8th JAN 2015 – KENDRA’S 8TH ANNIVERSARY & NEW YEAR’S PARTY
Today we celebrated our 8th Anniversary & New Year -2015 grand party with a full day musical programme by Umaben & Sailesh Musical Group. There was no Yoga.
Vinod Parekh welcomed all to the first Kendra’s event of the year and wished everyone a Happy New Year and informed the gathering that this was the 8th Anniversary of our formation. He then named and thanked all those who made vital contribution to make the programme a huge success.
Despite the inclement weather and heavy rain, over 270 members and guests attended this very well organised programme and it was good to so everyone in a happy mood and enjoying the fantastic music with most oldies – ‘Bhuli Bisri Yadeein’ Everyone was clapping and singing with the melodious tunes and several requests for specific songs were given and sung by the group.
The volunteers came before 9.30am in the morning to decorate the Hall and Tables and make the necessary arrangements. As members arrived, they were given chocolates and after signing in the Register, they entered the Hall, where their tickets were checked.
We had invited Binaben Shah (who time and again provided us the charity show tickets) and our Auditor – Dipak Shah. We also had invited 6 members from the Navnat Vadil Mandal. 13 new members taken this year also attended.
A delicious lunch with ‘Gulab Jamun’ was served and this was very well enjoyed and several members and guests came for refills and yet there was so much extra food in the end. Several members came and praised the special lunch.
We are proud to have all the Volunteers who had put in a lot of effort in making this programme a great success and they deserve our heartfelt thanks. When everyone was enjoying, these volunteers were busy taking care of their responsibilities. Our Joint Secretary -Vinod Parekh, who organised everything most meticulously and in detail for this grand programme deserve our special congratulations.
At Tea Time, Ice Cream donated by Binaben Shah was distributed to all.
All the donors, those who decorated the Hall and the Tables, and those who brought the chocolates were thanked.
