ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURSDAY 15TH JANUARY 2015

1.Today, Jayeshbai Shah conducted the Warm-up Yoga and thereafter continued with the main Yoga stressing the correct positions for each movement.  Also Ushaben Mehta joined and conducted Yoga with different positions on the theme : ‘Washing of clothes’ and explained the different points which helps many problems.  Many thanks to both of them from Kendra.  All members enjoyed in performing the new movements.

2.  DONATIONS :    “Chaas” for the month of January is sponsored by Champaben Shantilal Mehta.  Many thanks to her from Kendra.

                                  *Today at Tea Time, instead of tea, we will have ‘Gajjar –No-Halwa’ with Ice Cream which is sponsored by Manjuben Pindoria with Best Wishes to all Kendra members, and to specially welcome the new members joining this year.  Kendra’s many thanks and Best Wishes to her.

3. This is a Sad announcement : Death has occurred of  Anil H. Shah, brother of our member Rameshchandra Harakchand Shah and Champaben Shah. Anil passed away on 10th Jan. 2015, while on holiday in Tenerife. Prayers will take place at Oshwal Centre on Sunday -18th. Jan from 3pm to 5 pm. Our condolences to the family and we pray the deceased’s soul rests in eternal peace.

4. We welcome the new members who have joined from this year and request them to stand up and introduce themselves. We request all members to ensure to guide the new members so that they can enjoy all our activities and also contribute their talents for the betterment of the Kendra. Our large membership of 400 and 392 names on the Waiting List proves how popular our Kendra has grown. All new members are requested to always bring their Kendra Membership Card and to write a label with the name of their emergency contact behind the card and paste with cello tape.

5. After lunch today we will have a game of Bingo and at Tea Time, Kendra will distribute the Ice Cream with ‘Gajjar –No-Halwa’.

6. Next Thursday – 22nd Jan, we will have a Quiz programme.

7. We hope everyone enjoyed our last Thursday’s Anniversary and New Year’s programme with the lovely music and the delicious lunch.  We have received several messages of thanks for the programme and lovely lunch.

8.  This is for the new members.  We have noticed that the membership forms submitted have not been completed or are blank.  Please go to the Main Desk at the entrance and give us your full details. Names should be given in full as there are now several members with the same name and surnames. Details must include : Next of Kin contact, Doctor’s contact and Health details.

9. We again repeat that if you want to do Yoga on the floor, you must do the same on proper Yoga mats and try not to wear socks for safety reasons.  Kindly also maintain silence while Yoga is being conducted.
10.  We are pleased to inform members that our Treasurer – Punambhai Patwa applied for refund of Gift Aid with HMRC and we were able to claim a good sum of £1700 for 2014.  We thank and congratulate Punambhai for the splendid work.  Keep it up

11.  Navnat Vanik Bhagini Samaj is organising a Cruise and tour of the Canary Islands and Morocco from 16/3 to 26/3.  If you are interested –contact Bhartiben Shah.

12.  Everyone is requested to sign in the Register at Entrance Table and Guests are requested to obtain their Passes from Vinod Parekh.

13.  Jasuben Sheth sought members’ opinion on what programme they would like to have this afternoon – giving them a choice between Bingo or members to speak on the weather.  Members requested for Bingo.
She also sought members’ opinion on which programme they wanted for next week – either Quiz or Antakshri.  Members voted for Quiz.
She said on 29th Jan we will have a programme on India’s Independence Day and Gandhi Bapu Nirvan.  She requested for members to come prepared.
On 26th March she stated that we will have a programme to renew the marriage vows of all couples who have reached 40 years of marriage.  A special ‘panditji’ will come on that day.

14.  Vinod Parekh announced members to give names if anyone wanted to sponsor ‘Chaas’ or Tea and Biscuits.
He announced that we had received several letters of praise for last week’s Anniversary and New Year programme, which was enjoyed by all.   He also said that we may make some mistakes some time and requested members to bear with us.
