ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURSDAY 26th FEBRUARY 2015
1.The Warm-up Yoga today was conducted by Jayubhai Shah. Many thanks to him from Kendra.
2. Today, after lunch we will have a programme on ‘Holi’ and ‘Maha Shivratri’ and there will be a special ‘Thandai’ drink for all at lunch, instead of ‘Chaas’. This special drink- in lieu of ‘Bhang’- has been prepared by Indrkant Bakhai. Many thanks to him for preparing such a delicious drink.
3. Next Thursday -5th March, we will have a visit and talk from Bob Blackman, MP from Harrow East.
4. On Sunday - 8th March at 12.00 noon, we have booked a Gujarati play “CHORNA HAATHMA CHAVI” by Kiran Purohit at the Pattidar Federation Hall, London Road, Wembley. Tickets are for £10 for members and non-members. Pls book at the Main Desk with Punambhai Patwa. Over 80 seats have already been booked.
5. We have arranged a film show – ‘ROY’ on Tuesday -17th March with lunch. Price, as always, £1 or £5 for members and for non-members -£3 or £8.Tickets from Vinod Parekh.
6. Our AGM will be held in two phases on 12th & 19th March after lunch. On 12th all the reports and accounts will be presented. Also names from members wishing to stand for the 15 committee members as per our Constitution who wants to stand for election will be finalised and on 19th the elections will take place. Guests are not allowed on both these days.
7. We have organised a very colourful and enjoyable programme on 16th April to renew the marriage vows of couples. A special ‘panditji’ will come on that day. Members wishing to take part should give their names to Jasuben. So far 11 names of couples have been received and a few more names can be given.
8. Our 18 day trip to Japan & Korea from 9th to 26th May has 2 places left. If you are interested please contact Jayantbhai Doshi. The cost for members is £3400 and for non-members £3450.
9. A colourful dance extravaganza – ‘BEYOND BOLLYWOOD’ which takes on a cultural tour of India with Indian folk songs is being shown at the London Palladium, Argyll Street, West end in May and June. This spectacular theatrical event was booked to sold-out shows in Mumbai. We are trying to negotiate and arrange members to see the show on either 2nd or 4th June for Royal Circus – which is around £32.50 if we have 30 names (normally this is £57.50). Please give your preference and names to Vinod Parekh.
10. The 10 members who attended the Lions Clubs function at Harrow Leisure Centre last Sunday had a great time. Many thanks to Gauriben and Ashwin Sheth of Lions Club of Feltham & Witton for yet again inviting our members.
11. Everyone including all guests are requested to sign in the Register at the Entrance Table and Guests are requested to obtain their Passes from Vinod Parekh.
12. Jayantbhai Doshi announced that we had been offered tickets for the ‘Madam Butterfly’show at the Royal Albert Hall for tonight’s show at 7.30 pm and Sunday’s show at 2.30pm. If anyone is interested, they should collect tickets from him. As usual £1 for charity has to be paid. (a few tickets for tonight’s show are still available from jayantbhai).
