ANNOUNCEMENTS ON WEDNESDAY 22nd APRIL 2015

1.After lunch today, we will have a talk on strokes. Miss Simone Balkin from Family & Carer Support Co-ordination and Shain Shamah (stroke survivor) will come and give this informative talk. At the end a survey form is requested to be completed and returned. A very informative talk with slide projection was given. Several members had remained behind to listen to the talk.

2.  As usual at Tea Time, Kendra will serve the sponsored tea and biscuits.

3.  Next Thurs – 30th April, we have Bingo games.

4. We are going to change the dates of our trip to Manor House & Ashbury Hotels in Devon, from July.  The dates are from 21st June 26th June.  This will cost about £75 less.  Exact details  will be given soon. As the cost will be less, let us know if you still want to join and enjoy 6 days of fun and activities. Please give your names at the main Desk.

5.  We hope you enjoyed last week’s ‘Renewal of Wedding vows’ programme and the special lunch with ice cream.  Several members have expressed that the programme was fantastic.  All the credit goes to Jasuben Sheth, her assistants and all the volunteers, who had worked very hard to make the programme a hit.

6.  There will be a meeting on Thurs – 30th April at 2.00 pm, for all who are going on the tour of Japan and Korea.

7. Maharaja Shiv Chhatrapati Pratishthan Trust of India will be presenting two shows of “JAANTA RAJA” in Hindi on Sat -20th June from 6.30 to 9.30pm and on Sun -21st June  from 6.00 to 9.00 pm at the SSE Arena, Wembley.  Tickets are from £30 to £125.  For the £30 tkts, if we have around 100 people, we can try and get this for £15. ‘Jaanta Raja’ based upon the life and times of Chhatrapati Shivaji is world’s second largest and Asia’ largest theatrical production with 250/300 artists and revolving set of about 55ft high.  The entourage of live animals like horses, camels, elephants and bullock carts take the audience 400 years back to Shivaji era.  The show will actually depict soldiers climbing the vertical 50ft fort wall with flaming torches in the night.  There are dare devil stunts and eye catching fireworks at the end.

8. National Council of Vanik Associations, with other organisations, has arranged a Health Seminar in East London on Sunday, 3rd May from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm.  It is free but you must register in advance.  More details from Manharbhai Mehta.
9.  Members are aware that there is a general election on Thursday – 7th May and if you have not registered, Monday is the last possible day to register on line to vote.  You can also give your preference to vote by post and you will receive the ballot every time by post and thus you can vote at your leisure from home.

10. Everyone, including guests, is requested to sign in the Register at the Entrance Table. Guests are requested to obtain their Pass from Vinod Parekh.

11. Jayantbhai Doshi announced that offer to people aged 60 and over to see The Memories Match cricket at Lords cricket ground on Monday –1st  June from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm to see the County Championship match between Middlesex and Warwickshire.  If you are interested, please register your names with a payment of £1.
