ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURSDAY 30th APRIL 2015

Our Hon. Secretary -  Jayantbhai Doshi  made the following announcements :

                 * Kendra does not encourage or indulge in charity collections or supporting any charity as such.  However the massive earthquake in Nepal is more humanitarian as reports say that over 5000 people have been killed and the death toll is likely to rise as information comes from the remote mountain areas.  Tens of thousands need urgent assistance.  Hospitals are overflowing, thousands are homeless and sleeping outside.  They need urgent support. We have received requests from members to do something about it.  As such, we will put a collection box today and next week and whatever is collected will be sent to the National Committee for this disaster, which covers all charities working in Nepal.
                 * As informed by email, we have changed the dates of our trip to Manor House & Ashbury Hotels in Devon because of the very good rate which saved us £55.  The trip will now be from Sunday - 21st June to Thursday - 26th June.  The new price (Two sharing) is £280 for members and £290 for guests.  Those who had given us their names should reconfirm the new dates and give new cheques.  Those who gave their names but cannot come will get full refund. Please let us have your names at the Main Desk, if you want to join in this tour with new dates, and enjoy 6 days of fun and activities.
        * We had announced about the offer to people aged 60 and over to see The Memories Match cricket at Lords cricket ground on Monday –1st June from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm to see the LV County Championship match between Middlesex and Warwickshire.  If you are interested and are over 60, please register your names with a payment of £1.
        *  We have arranged our first picnic on Tuesday -9th June, when we will go to see the park at St. Albans. We will have some Yoga in the morning, followed by brunch and then walk around the park.  We will have a late lunch.  Price is £15 for all.  Please give your names. The coach will depart from Harrow Leisure Centre at 9.00 am.
       * Vanitaben and Suryakant Mehta have celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on 26/4.

1.In the absence of Manishaben, today’s Yoga was conducted by Jayantbhai Doshi and Ushaben Mehta.  Ushaben gave several health tips also.  Many thanks from Kendra to both of them.

2. DONATIONS :  * Today’s lunch is sponsored by Anilbhai of Skylink Travel & Tours, who has always given us very good rates and service for all tours booked with them.  Kendra’s many thanks to him. 
                               * Special sweet –‘Barfi’ at lunch time today is sponsored by Pushpaben Patel to celebrate birthday of her grand-daughter – Diya Panwar and the graduation of her daughter –Seena Panwar, which will be on 1st May.  Our heartiest congratulations to both of them and thanks from Kendra.
                             * £51 from Vanitaben and Suryakant Mehta on the occasion of their 60th Wedding Anniversary.  Kendra’s many thanks and heartiest congratulations to them.

3.  After lunch today - at 2.00 pm there will be a meeting of all who are joining in the Japan and Korea tour. For the rest of the members we will have Bingo games and as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will serve the sponsored tea and biscuits.

4.  Next Thurs – 7th May we have Whist Drive.

5. We gave details of the two shows of “JAANTA RAJA” in Hindi on Sat -20th June from 6.30 to 9.30pm and on Sun -21st June  from 6.00 to 9.00 pm at the SSE Arena, Wembley.  Tickets are from £30 to £125.  For the £30 tkts, if we have around 100 people, we can try and get this for £15. If you are interested in coming for any of the shows, please give your names.

6.  Our heartiest congratulations to our members – Dhirubhai Galani who has been re-elected as the President of NVA and Rajnikant Sheth who has been re-elected as the President of Navnat Vadil Mandal.  Also Ushaben Mehta has been nominated as one of the Trustee of the NVA. Please keep up the good work.

7. The photos of the Wedding vows programme and other programmes have been uploaded on our Website : www.nvk.org.uk . Open under Galleries.

8. National Council of Vanik Associations, with other organisations, has arranged a Health Seminar in East London on Sunday, 3rd May from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm.  The Seminar has already received enough names.  However there are still places in the transport coach from Kenton Library at £5. If you want to take the transport please inform Manharbhai Mehta/Jayesh Shah.

9. Sanatan Hindu Mandir, Crawley has arranged a grand function on Sat -16th May when Mahavir Bhagvan’s murti will be installed by Bhaishri Nalinbhai Kothari of Sayla Rajchandra Group.  Mahavir Foundation has arranged a coach to Crawley.  Price £12.50 which includes all meals.  For further information contact Vinodbhai Kapashi.

10. Everyone, including guests, is requested to sign in the Register at the Entrance Table. Guests are requested to obtain their Pass from Vinod Parekh.

11. Our President – Baburai Shah welcomed today’s gathering and stated that he was Happy to see the presence of over 250 today.  He said that we have lined up several trips and tours during Summer and requested co-operation of all members.

12.  Jasuben Sheth announced  that we have lined up the following two programmes in future and requested members who are interested to give their names : A gujarati Natak and a Quiz to find our who is ‘NVK me sabse shaana kon’
