ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURSDAY 7th MAY 2015

1.We welcome back Manishaben after her sickness.  We pray for her speedy recovery.  She conducted Yoga and gave Health Tips. 

2 .DONATIONS :  * £51 from Grandparents – Vanlilaben & Sharad Mehta in celebration of the birth of their grand-son – Aarav born on 27th Feb. His parents are Rupal and Chetan Mehta.  Our Heartiest congratulations and thanks to the family from Kendra.
   * ‘Chaas’ for the month of May is sponsored by Chandrakalaben Parmar.  Many thanks to her on behalf of Kendra.

3.  Our best wishes to the Royal family on the birth of the Royal Princess – Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

4.  After lunch today we will have Whist Drive and as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will serve the sponsored tea and biscuits.

5.  Next Thurs – 14th May we have a programme of ‘Antakshri’.

6. The 18 day overseas trip to Japan & Korea starts this Saturday - 9th May and we wish all those joining in the tour pleasant holidays.

7.  Our annual trip to Manor House & Ashbury Hotels in Devon is from Sunday - 21st June to Thursday - 26th June.  The price (Two sharing) is £280 for members and £290 for guests.  Those who had given us their names should reconfirm the new dates and give new cheques.   Please give your names to Ashok Mehta, if you want to join in this tour with new dates, to enjoy 6 days of fun and activities. Please note that if we do not have 26 names we will postpone the trip.

8.  We had announced about the offer to people aged 60 and over to see The Memories Match cricket at Lords cricket ground on Monday –1st June from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm to see the LV County Championship match between Middlesex and Warwickshire.  If you are interested and are over 60, please register your names with a payment of £1.

9.  We have arranged our first picnic on Tuesday -9th June, at the park in St. Albans. There will be Yoga in the morning, followed by brunch and walk around the park.  We will have a late lunch.  Price is £15 for all.  Please give your names to Ashok Mehta. The coach will depart at 8.00 am from Kenton Library.

10.  The Newsletter for May has been emailed to members and also uploaded on our Website. A few copies are available for those who do not have access to emails.
      
11. We gave details of the two shows of “JAANTA RAJA” in Hindi on Sat -20th June from 6.30 to 9.30pm and on Sun -21st June from 6.00 to 9.00 pm at the SSE Arena, Wembley.  Tickets are from £30 to £125.  For the £30 tkts, if we have around 100 people, we can try and get this for £15. If you are interested in coming for any of the shows, please give your names.

12.  We have two tickets for the afternoon show on Thursday – 4th June at 2.30pm of ‘Beyond Bollywood’ at the London Palladium.  If you are interested, please contact Jayantbhai Doshi.

13.  You are all aware of the thousands of people who have lost their lives in Nepal and the survivors who have lost everything are still sleeping in the streets.  We have kept a collection box at the Main Table to collect funds for the Nepal earthquake victims.  If you wish to donate any amount, please do so. Whatever amount is collected will be sent to the National Committee for this disaster, which covers all charities working in Nepal.  (We are pleased to note that a wonderful collection of £500 has been made).

14.  As announced by Jasuben Sheth last week, we are having programmes in future to present a Gujarati Natak and a Quiz to find NVK’s ‘Sabse saana kaun’.  If you are interested in taking part in any of these, please give you names.

15.  Pragnaben Mandalia, who is the co-ordinator for ‘The Big Collection’ charity for the Diabetes UK and The Heart Foundation requests for volunteers to give service for 2/3 hours on Sat -13th or Sun -14th June at Tesco, Brent Cross.  If you can offer your service, pls contact her.

16.  For the health and wellbeing of our members, we have started a walking group at Kendra and about 30 members have joined every Thursday and are pleased to note the benefit of walking.

17. Everyone, including guests, is requested to sign in the Register at the Entrance Table. Guests are requested to obtain their Pass from Vinod Parekh.

18.  Pragnaben Mandalia announced that the Walking Group starts at 10.15am for the first group and 10.30am for the second. She requested members not to come late and members should not walk alone but in groups of 3/4
