ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURSDAY 23rd OCTOBER 2014

Today is Diwali and on this day we wish you and your family a very Happy Diwali and Peace and Prosperity in the New Year.  May all your wishes come true.  On behalf of Kendra, we thank all the ladies who have come with beautiful Diwali decorations in the Hall.

1.DONATIONS : Today’s Special Diwali lunch has been sponsored by the following 34 persons who had joined in the Turkey Trip.  40 people had joined in this trip and the names of those who have sponsored today’s lunch are :

* £251 from Dayakumari and Mansukhbhai B Shah on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary.  Kendra’s thanks and heartiest congratulations to them.  We pray that they celebrate many more anniversaries in future.
* £21 from an anonymous donor on the occasion of Diwali and New Year.  Many thanks from Kendra.
2. After lunch today we will have an hour of comedy and mimicry from Rajubhai, who has come from India. As usual at Tea Time, Kendra will provide tea and biscuits. Please note that tea will be served to you on your chair, hence no one should get up and go to the serving table.

3. Last Tuesday 35 members went on a trip to Leicester to see the Diwali lights and enjoy the variety of food on Belgrave Road.  They all had a wonderful time.

4. Next Thursday – 30th Oct there will be a Walk and Talk Seminar after lunch for those who are in that Group.

5. Please renew your membership before 15th December.  Already over 100 members have renewed their membership.

6.  On 13th November we intend to hold a discussion programme on the topic : What did you achieve after arriving in this country or learnt something new.  Several names have been received by Jasuben Sheth and any more members intending to take part should give their names.

7.  Our next Film Show at the Cineworld, Staples Corner with subsidised rates to members is on Tuesday, 4th November and the film is ‘MARY KOM’. For members it is £1 for the film only and £5 with Lunch.  Guests scan come at £3 for film only and £8 for film and lunch.  Tickets from Vinod Parekh.  Please also note that once you have bought your tickets, no cancellations will be accepted.

8.  Remember on this Saturday, before going to sleep turn your clocks one hour behind and enjoy an extra hour’s sleep.  Day Light Saving Time will start from 2.00 am on Sunday.

9. Everyone is requested to sign in the Register at the main Table including all guests.  Guests should ensure to obtain Guest Pass from Vinod Parekh.

10.  Jasuben Sheth, Nimaben Kakad and Laitbhai Mehta then gave good Diwali geets.  Many thanks to them.

11. Vinod Parekh announced that we had collected £79.77 from the ‘Aarti’ thali on Sharad Purnima programme. This was donated to the Sanatan Hindu Mandir, Wembley.
