ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURSDAY 11th JUNE 2015

2. After lunch today we will have a programme to celebrate Kendra’s winning the Queen’s Award for Voluntary service. There is a Special Lunch. After lunch Our Hon. Secretary – Jayantbhai Doshi will talk about how Kendra was formed. Then there will be Ras Garba. As usual at Tea Time, Kendra will serve the sponsored tea and biscuits.
Everybody enjoyed the lunch with ‘Shrikhand’ and three farsans. Jayantbhai Doshi informed members how the Kendra was formed, who were involved in its planning and how it progressed to such a large membership from small beginnings.
Jasuben Sheth recited a wonderful poem praising the Kendra and its members. Vinodbhai Kapashi also recited praise for Kendra.
3. Please note that we will not meet next Thursday as the Halls are not available. Hence we are meeting on Wednesday – 17th June. Our programme on 17th is a Demonstration of ‘Rangoli’by our member – Manjuben Pindoria. Also the Walking Group will meet as usual on Wednesday. The first group at 10.15am and the second at 10.30am.
4. Those 80 people who joined in our picnic on Tuesday to the Verulamium Park in St. Albans, had a wonderful time despite the inclement weather. Members had the opportunity to see the various Roman remains, museum, etc. and the Cathedral. This is a lovely park for a family picnic. There is a nice lake in the middle to wander about. Children will certainly enjoy feeding the ducks and wildfowls. There is a playground for children and a beautiful massive Cathedral dating back to 1077, with full of historic information. 50 Members went by coach and another 30 had joined with their own transport.
5. We hope to start our film shows again. The next film will be ‘Piku’ on Tues – 7th July. This is a good comedy, drama film *ing Amitabh Bachchan.
6. The tickets for the “JAANTA RAJA” – the story of Chhatrapati Shivaji show at SSE Arena, Wembley on Sat -21st June were distributed last Thursday. If you have not collected the same, please do so from Ashokbhai Mehta.
7. We are arranging a South America & Antarctica cruise starting from 31st January 2016(from S.A.) – you have to travel a few days before from London. The cruse will cover Chile, Argentina, Cape Horn, Falkland Islands etc. You have to decide quickly and booking will depend on availability of cabins. Full details have been sent by email.
8. Everyone, including guests, is requested to sign in the Register at the Entrance Table. Guests are requested to obtain their Pass from Vinod Parekh.
