ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE ON THURSDAY 21st AUGUST 2014

1.Our Yoga Instructor – Manishaben Wala had an emergency and could not come and hence Jayantbhai Doshi conducted the Yoga today and everyone enjoyed the different style of exercises in stretching all body parts. Ushaben Mehta gave a health tip on how to brush your teeth correctly and Jayantbhai informed different exercises for knee problems.  Jasuben Sheth conducted Laughing Therapy and Meditation.  Many thanks to all of them from Kendra.

2. After lunch today, we are having a lecture by Sadhviji – Dr. Sahejaji, who has been invited by the Mahavir Foundation during Paryushan.  She is a very learned scholar.  As usual at Tea-time, Kendra will provide tea and biscuits.

3. Next Thursday, 28th August we will meet as usual, though it is during ‘Paryushan’ and we will have a lecture by Dr. Balwant Jani.

4. Our 12 day trip to Turkey from 11th September has now 3 seats available and if anyone is interested, please inform Jayantbhai Doshi or Chimanbhai Sheth.  Also if anyone has problem in getting online Visa for Turkey, please inform Chimanbhai. 

5.  The first film show at the Cineworld in Staples Corner is ‘Kick’ starring Salman Khan, on Tuesday, 9th September at 10.30 am. We have booked the whole screen (100 seats) and also arranged for lunch with Ram Restaurant on Kenton Road. Charge for film only for members is £1 and for non-members £3 and charge for film and lunch for members is £5 and £8 for guests.

6.  Please note in your diary that we will not be meeting on Thursday -4th September as all the Halls have been booked.  Instead we will meet on Wednesday -3rd Sept.

7.  Mahavir Foundation’s annual Paryushan will again this year be held at the Kingsbury High School from 22nd to 29th August and Navnat Vanik Association’s will be held at Hayes on the same dates. Those who would like to attend the Paryushan at Navnat can get the £10 season pass from Surbhiben Khona.

8. Yoga news : The world famous Yoga Guru – BKS Iyengar passed away at the age of 95 two days ago. Iyengar Yoga is being taught in 70 countries in the world and his books have been translated into 13 languages.  He could perform ‘Sirsashna’ for half an hour daily until last year. Once the famous Violinist – Yehudi Menuhin came to him and said he never had time to relax and never had a good night’s sleep.  Within one minute, Iyengar had him snoring.

9. We have been informed that the NCVA Directory has been handed over to the Post Office for mailing to those who are registered with them.

10. Everyone is requested to sign in the Register at the main Table including all guests.  Guests should ensure to obtain Guest Pass from Vinod Parekh.

11. Jayantbhai Doshi informed members about the 3 places left for Turkey trip and also stated that the second ‘Walk for health’ was held today and in future it will be held at Sattavis Patidar at 9.45 am. More details from Pragnaben Mandalia.
12.  President, Baburai Shah informed members about the special deal with Cineworld and the first film show on Tuesday 9th at subsidised cost to members.  He stated that if members keep on giving their support for such shows, we will have a latest Bollywood film show every month.  However, in future the show will be for £3.
