NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS –21st  MAR ‘19

1). Our President – Vinod Parekh started the announcements stating that he wanted to clarify the issue of tickets for the Gujarati film -  “Chaal Jeevi Leiye”.  Two weeks ago the Secretary of Navnat Vadil Mandal (NVM) had approached us suggesting that we take a film show in partnership.  We had told him that we were not interested in partnership, but were willing to take tickets on sale or return basis.  NVM then booked the show and when he attended a function at Navnat, he was given 50 tkts.  We sent a circular to our members on Sat – 16/3 about the show.  On Monday about 2.30pm the NVM Secretary phoned and talked to his wife and informed her that the film tickets had been over-sold and they wanted 25 tkts to be returned. In the evening he had gone to a film show and had switched off his mobile. He later on found several missed calls from the President and Secretary of NVM.  Hence he called their President, when he was told to keep 10 tickets only and return all other.  He told the President that many members may ask for tickets since our announcement and just 10 tkts will not be enough so we said we will  return all tickets. Later, a NVK member phoned to him asking for 2 tkts and also informed him that in the morning the NVM Secretary was selling tickets in Kadwa Patidar Samaj and that he was told to buy tkts from NVK.
As to why we were told that the tickets were over-sold when their Secretary was selling tickets at Kadwa Patidar was not known.
It has been decided that In future NVK will not allow any organisation to sale tickets at any of Kendra’s gatherings.  Also any distribution of pamphlets etc will not be allowed unless prior permission is sought from us. This will be followed strictly henceforth.

He also announced that there are 2 places vacant in our Torquay tour due to cancellation.

4). After lunch today we have a programme of “Chai with Jasu” and as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will provide Tea and Biscuits.
Jasuben’s Chai was with our members : Bhartiben Kotecha and Anilbhai Bhuva.  This was something unique as normally such programmes are with well known personalities in the society.  But Jasuben had invited two less abled members - one on Wheel Chair and the other one on tripod stand.  She must be heartily congratulated for this innovative idea.  She asked questions and answers were given by both.  Mostly pertaining to their disabilities and their life.
Vinodbhai Kapashi gave vote of thanks and said it was interesting to see how in life one has to cope up with difficulties.  As there was time, he also gave some insight into our festivals.  Other members sang songs.  Everyone enjoyed the programme.
