Today’s Yoga was done on chair as everyone has come well dressed to celebrate the thumping election victory by Shri Narendra Modi and his BJP in India.

1.DONATIONS :
Today’s Special lunch is sponsored by Ramaben Jayantilal Doshi on the occasion of Narendra Modi becoming the PM and also Jayantilal Doshi celebrating his 75th birthday last week and Ramaben’s birthday coming soon.  Kendra’s heartiest thanks, best wishes and congratulations to Ramaben and Jayantilal on reaching birthday milestones.  We pray that they enjoy many more birthdays to come.

On the occasion of Jayantbhai’s 75th birthday, Meera Catering had prepared a special cake and donated this to the Kendra.  The cake was cut by Jayantbhai and Ramaben and everyone sang the Happy Birthday song as well as the ‘Baar baar ye din aaye ……..’.  The cake was distributed to all members with lunch.  The lunch menu was also very delicious and included fruit shrikhand, samosas etc. Kendra’s and Jayatbhai & Ramaben’s family’s special thanks to Meera Catering for the lovely cake which was distributed to over 230 people.  Before the cake cutting ceremony, Jasuben recited a special poem which was fitting the immense work done by Jayantbhai.

Also ‘Jalebi’ in the lunch menu for all present is sponsored by Chandrabala A.Kakad to celebrate her 75th birthday, which was last week.  Kendra’s thanks, Best Wishes and congratulations to her and we pray that she enjoys many more birthdays to come. Happy Birthday song was sung for her too.

2. After lunch today we have a programme – ‘Vijay Mahotsav’ - to celebrate the election victory of Narendra Modi and his imminent appointment as the PM of India. We as Gujaratis are immensely proud that a fellow Gujarati will be the PM of the largest democracy in the world.  He, as Chief Minister of Gujarat, changed the face of Gujarat in the last decade and we hope he will now do the same for India. We will have some speeches and Garbas.

3 As usual Kendra will provide Tea and Biscuits at tea time.

A very interesting programme was arranged by Jasuben Sheth and her team of volunteers. To start with we had Narendra Modi (very well impersonated by our member – Indrant Bakhai, with similar clothes and a moustache with beard, too) entering the Hall, escorted by our President – Baburai Shah. Everyone gave standing ovation to them.  They sat on the main table and Modiji took blessings from his mother.  Vinodbhai Kapashi gave a short introduction and Sudhaben Kapashi recited a special poem and a guest from India spoke on his personal experiences with Modiji. There was slide show  with music. Jayantbhai gave a vote of thanks and there were garbas.

A fantastic day’s programme which everyone enjoyed and all the credit goes to the several volunteers who were involved in making the day a great success. Many thanks to all of them.

WE HAD ANNOUNCED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE HALL THAT UNFORTUNATELY AN I-PAD BELONGING TO Dr VINODBHAI KAPASHI, WHICH HE HAD KEPT NEAR THE WALL, BEHIND THE STAGE HAD DISAPPEARED. THIS HAD STILL NOT BEEN FOUND AND WE ARE YET AGAIN APPEALING TO ALL PRESENT THAT THIS I-PAD HAD A SENTIMENTAL VALUE – AS IT WAS GIFT TO HIM BY HIS DAUGHTER AND IT CONTAINED USEFUL DATA.

PLEASE RETURN THIS.  WE ARE TRYING TO CONTACT THE SECURITY COMPANY TO TRY AND SEE THE RECORDING IN THE SECURITY CAMERA IN THE HALL.
