NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS –23rd May ‘19

1). OUR HEARTIEST CONGRATULATIONS AND FELICITATIONS TO NARENDRA MODIJI – PM & BJP ON WINNING THE ELECTIONS IN INDIA.
2). Today’s Warm-up Yoga was conducted by Jayeshbhai Shah. Kendra’s many thanks.
3). DONATIONS : Our member – Laxmiben Meghani had a holiday in India and she has bought a bag of ‘Dhanajiru’ from Cutch and donated to NVK.
Also Kantaben Karsan Bhudia went to India for holiday and bought a bag of special tea masala from Cutch and donated to NVK. Our Heartiest Thanks to both members
4). After lunch today we will have ‘Antakshri’ with some new ideas and as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will provide tea and biscuits.
(Sudhaben and Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi had organised a very interesting ‘Antakshri’ with the help of Harenbhai Meswani and Chandrakant Shah. Members taking part were formed in groups and had to answer thought provoking questions/name the song of the music tune which was played/sing the song on the letter picked up etc. Many members stayed behind for the programme which was enjoyed by all.
5). Next Thurs – 30/5, we will have Tarlaben Doshi who will speak on how to improve wellbeing.
6). Our next tour is a Mystery Tour from Mon -29/7 to Fri – 2/8 and nearly 4 coaches are full. However we are still waiting for confirmation for the 4th coach.
7). Our Walk and Talk Group organised and looked after by Dr Pragnaben Mandalia is a wonderful project and keeps members healthy and happy. Members come early and join in the walk at Sattavis Pattidar Centre. This was stopped during winter and autumn seasons and will now be restarted by Pragnaben from Thurs – 4th July and interested members are most welcome.
8). We are highly pleased to inform members that Ramaben and Jayantbhai Doshi family who had fully sponsored the tuneful music programme, the special menu at lunch and cake at tea time on 9/5 had donated NVK not only the grand sum of £2800 but also gave this as a donation so that we will be benefitting another Gift Aid claim. Our Heartiest Thanks to the family.
9). On Tues- 21/5, our Care Home visit Team visited Charlton Care Home in Hatch End where there are 24 residents – majority speaking English. Our Team entertained them with English songs, nursery rhymes and general knowledge questions. When playing “Passing the Parcel” the Asian resident was very happy to sing the bhajan - “Raghupati raghav raja ram”. Our Team under Purnimaben Mehta is doing an excellent job. Congratulations to all the Team members.
10). We are pleased to inform members that our member – Rajnikant Sheth – Zone Chairman - has received a “Certificate of Appreciation” for Leadership and Enthusiasm from the District Governor of Lions International. Our Heartiest Congratulations to him.
11). Secretary – Jayantbhai Doshi announced that many members are taking up the parking on yellow lines in the front and also on the Disabled car park, without having a Disabled Pass thus bringing a lot of inconvenience to Disabled Pass holders. Also members are not parking inside the parking bays correctly and some occupy two spaces. He requested members to be respectful to others.
He also informed members that for our ‘Mystery Tour’, confirmation for the 4th Coach is still awaited.
12). Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi announced about the afternoon programme and requested for more names.
