NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA- ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS –26th JAN 2017
1). Today, Dineshbhai T Shah conducted the Warm up Yoga and Manishaben conducted Yogic exercises for toning all body muscles. Many thanks to both of them.
2). After lunch we will have a programme on India’s Republic Day.
Also, today Pragnaben Mandalia had arranged a workshop by Talking Therapy from 10.30 am to 12 noon and the topic for discussion was “Anxiety and Depression”. Meghnaben Thakar and Gini Bequiri from Brent and Harrow conducted the workshop. Kendra’s many thanks to them. 25 members came early to take part and they were highly impressed and said they gained a lot of knowledge. Our thanks to Pragnaben for always arranging such health programmes for the benefit of members. She will also arrange the same programme in future for the general membership.
As usual at Tea Time, Kendra will provided tea and biscuits.
Vindobhai Kapashi gave a brief history of India leading to the independence and declaration of Republic day in 1950. A video and screen was used throughout the programme. Members then sang independence songs and a march past was done with flags of India and ladies in tricolour clothes. Another good programme arranged by Jasuben Sheth.
3). Next Thur – 2nd Feb we will have a first-hand talk and report by Vinodbhai Kapashi on India’s demonetisation of currency.
4). Our member Vinodbhai Kapashi’s new book – “Jain Dharma Gyan Sagar” with 1000 questions and answers has now been published. He has published several more books before. Our heartiest congratulations to him.
We are indeed very pleased to note that Vinodbhai was awarded ‘Jain Gaurav’ award when he was invited to give a talk on “Jainism in Britain” on Christmas day in Ahmedabad. The programme was arranged by Vishvakosh Trust and Anukampa Trust. Kendra’s heartiest congratulations to him. Below is a copy of the report in Gujarat Samachar, Ahmedabad :

જૈન ગૌરવ એવાર્ડ એનાયત થશે -'જૈન ધર્મની ગઈકાલ, આજ અને આવતીકાલ' એ વિષય પર વક્તવ્ય આપશે
જૈન દર્શન માટે કાર્ય કરતી આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય સંસ્થા 'ઇન્સ્ટિટયૂટ આફ જૈનોલોજી' દ્વારા ભારતની બહાર વિદેશોમાં ચાલતી જૈનધર્મની પ્રવૃત્તિ વિશે એક વ્યાખ્યાનશ્રેણી યોજવામાં આવી છે. આ વ્યાખ્યાનશ્રેણીમાં બ્રિટનના મહાવીર ફાઉન્ડેશનના સક્રિય અધ્યક્ષ અને અનેક આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય પરિષદોમાં જૈન ધર્મ વિશે વ્યાખ્યાન આપનાર વિનોદ કપાસી બ્રિટનમાં 'જૈન ધર્મની ગઈકાલ, આજ અને આવતીકાલ' એ વિષય પર વક્તવ્ય આપશે. આ કાર્યક્રમ વિશ્વકોશ ભવનમાં રવિવારે ૨૫મી ડિસેમ્બરે સવારે ૯.૩૦ કલાકે યોજવામાં આવશે.
5). We only have 21 more days before our grand programme to celebrate Kendra’s 10th Anniversary on 16th Feb. The colourful Souvenir is now being printed in India and so are some surprise items for members. If you have not booked your tickets, you should to do so urgently. Members can also indicate their preference in seating with their friends on the lists kept at the Main Table. There are grand prizes for Raffle to be drawn on that day.
6). Jasuben Sheth announced about the afternoon’s programme.
7). Vinod Parekh announced about the programme on 16/2 :
• Today is the last day to book your tickets for the 10th Anniversary programme. Should you also need to cancel your ticket at the last minute, please phone him so that others might get a chance to attend.
• All decorations will be done by VIP Lounge and volunteers should relax and enjoy the programme on that day.
• Food will be served on the tables.
• Music will be by Nitu Shah and group.
• As usual every year, Ashwinbhai Sheth (Gauriben’s husband) from Feltham & Whitton Lions Club has invited 10 members for their annual Senior Citizens Party on 19th Feb at the Byron Hall – Harrow Leisure Centre from 1.30pm. Kendra’s heartiest thanks to Gauriben and Ashwin Sheth for the invitation. Those members who have not attended such programme previously should give their names.
