Announcements - Thursday 29th May 2014

1.DONATIONS :
Jayantbhai Doshi announced that today’s lunch is sponsored and the sponsors did not want to name themselves.  However, as most members recognised the several guests from the Sanghrajka family and also knew the occasion, he stated that the lunch was sponsored by Urmilaben and Harshadbhai Sanghrajka who were celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary (50 years) and also Urmilaben’s 70th birthday.  Everyone wished Happy Birthday to Urmilaben and sang the Happy Birthday song and also congratulated them on their Golden Anniversary. Kendra’s Best Wishes, thanks and heartiest congratulations to them.  We also pray  that they celebrate many more anniversaries and birthdays

* £101 received from Pravinchandra & Kokila Mehta for coming to Kendra after a long absence.  Kendra wishes them Good Luck and Happy Health.  Many thanks for their donation.

* £100 from an anonymous member.  Kendra’s many thanks and Good Luck to him.

2. After lunch today we have a programme of Antakshri in a different format.  Jasuben will give full details later.  Jasuben announced details of the programme and also informed that next Thursday - on 5th June we have a very interesting debate on the topic : “Parnela Sukhi Ke Kunwra”. Already 17 names had been received and they were all requested to come well prepared.  Time limit will be 3 minutes.

3. Next month 24 participants go on a cruise of Iceland on Queen Victoria.  If more wish to join, they will be taken only if cabins are available.

4.  Jayantbhai announced that our visit to SHARD has been arranged on Tuesday 10th June and all the 24 members who had given their names were requested to pay £25 to Ellaben Shah. Members who would join at Wembley Park Station, were requested to be there by 10.30am and those coming direct to the London Bridge Station were requested to reach there by 10.45am. 

5.  It is very sad to find that items of value kept in the Hall during our programmes can disappear and not be found.  We have been informing and announcing to members to take care of their personal belongings.  However, at times members have to keep their items somewhere during a programme on the understanding that only our members are here and no outsider can realistically come in and snatch something without anyone’s attention.  The I-pad taken during last week has still not been found.

6.   A reminder to all the Kendra’s Committee members. Please come in time for the meeting to be held on Monday -2nd June at 10.00 at the Sattavis Patidar Centre.

7.  A lecture on ‘Bhaktamar Stotra’ by Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi has been arranged on this Saturday, 1st June at 7.00 pm at the Kenton Derasaar.  All invited.

8.  Everyone is requested to sign in the Register and Guests are requested to obtain guest pass from Vinod Parekh.
