JIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS – 5th MARCH 2020
1). Today we started with our whole day Medical programme at 11.00 am and there was no Yoga. Dr. Prgnaben Mandalia had arranged this programme of Knee and Hip problems as this was common problem for many of our members. She had brought specialist medical professionals to give us full information with the help of projector and slides. Pragnaben gave a brief introduction of the speakers. The following specialists gave their very detailed and informative talk on :

Orthopaedic Surgeon-- specialising in Knee and Hip surgery
Working in Hillingdon Hospital--NHS
Private practice in Clementine Churchill Hospital --Harrow And Bishops Wood Hospital-- Northwood.
(ii). Shital Parikh
Physiotherapist
Owner of Excellent Physiotherapy Ltd
Has Private practice and Working for BMI Northwood
(iii). Dr Uday Mandalia
Consultant Radiologist working at Watford General Hospital
Has Private practice at Clementine Churchill Hospital
and Bishops Wood Hospital--Northwood
(Uday is the son of our members - Pragnaben and Yashwantrai Mandalia)
(iv). Chetna Parmar
Specialist in Podiatric Medicine
Working with NHS also has private practice at Linda Pullan Podiatry, Harrow Weald
All the specialists gave full information on the screen with actual scans of various problems afflicting knees, hips and joints, spine and feet. Detailed causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment was pointed out. For Physiotherapy, how it helps in various conditions was pointed out. There were questions asked by members which the specialist replied with full information.
All the speakers were presented a token of appreciation from NVK by our President - Vinod Parekh.
Many members had stayed behind to listen to all the Specialists. Everyone enjoyed the programme and thanked Pragnaben Mandalia for arranging such an excellent programme.
2). DONATIONS: * £151 from an anonymous member whose wife celebrated her 75th birthday. Kendra's Heartiest Congratulations and Best Wishes and we pray that she enjoys many more birthdays to come.
3). After lunch today, we will continue with our medical programme.
4). Next Thurs – 12th March, we will have a grand programme on reciting of ‘shayaris’, ‘gazals’ ‘quawalis’ etc. Members who want to take part should give their names.
5). Newsletter for March has been circulated to members and also uploaded on our Website. Few hard copies will be available for those members who have no access to emails.
6) We have circulated full details of our first trip to Cotswolds from Mon- 11/5 to Fri – 15/5. If you are interested to join, registration is being done at the Front Desk and please give your names with payment to Purnimaben Mehta. (Already two coaches are full).
7). Srimad London Spiritual Centre on Falconer Road, Bushey has organised a spiritual cinema night with the film “The pursuit of happiness” starring Will Smith (the film is 4**** and has won many awards) at 8.00 pm tomorrow – Friday. It is free and no registration required, followed by free Milkshakes. All welcome.
8). Coronavirus - We have already sent a circular on this, but today we have also been informed by Sattavis Patidar Centre that the following should be announced :
Clean hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
Cover nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing with tissue or flexed elbow.
Avoid contact with anyone with cold or flu like symptoms.
President Vinod Parekh announced : * We thank Manharbhai Mehta of Vanik Association of UK and Ashwinbhai Sheth (husband of Gauriben Sheth) from Lions Club, both of whom gave us invitation for tables of 10 each. All our members who attended were very happy and enjoyed the programme. * Re Coronavirus - please do as per all safety notices - clean your hands with soap and water. * If you have not booked, please book for our Cotswolds trip. Already 2 Coaches are full and we are taking 3rd coach. * We regret there will be no tea today as there is no gas supply in the kitchen.
