NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA- ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS – 6th OCT 2016
1). DONATIONS: * ‘Chaas’ for the month of October is sponsored by Gitaben Mehta and Tea and Biscuits sponsored by Induben and Sobhagbhai Zaverchand Shah. Kendra’s heartiest thanks to all.
* Today’s lunch is sponsored by Chandrikaben Mehta to celebrate 60th birthday of her husband – Lalitrai B.Mehta, which was on 23/9. The family celebrated this occasion in Thailand. Now they have returned and want to enjoy the lunch with members. Kendra’s Best Wishes, Heartiest congratulations and pray that Lalitrai enjoys many more birthdays to come. Everyone joined in singing the Happy Birthday song.
2). After lunch today we will have Garbas in the ground floor Hall and as usual, at tea time, Kendra will provide the sponsored Tea and Biscuits.
3). Next Thurs – 13th Oct we will have a ‘Talking Therapy workshop on the topic : Anxiety and Depression at 10.30am on the upper Seminar Room and as usual there will be Yoga and after lunch we will continue with Part II of Cricket Teaser.
4). Newsletter for October has been emailed to members and also uploaded on Website. A few hard copies are available for those who have no access to emails.
Our Website has also all the previous announcements, Newsletters and photographs, so if you have missed the gathering, you can always refer to the announcements and see the photos to know about the programmes.
5). On Friday – 28th October, we have organised a trip to Balaji Temple and Leicester to see the Diwali lights. The charge is £15 for members and the trip will be booked provided there are enough members wishing to join. The coach will start from Kenton Library at 9.30 am and we will return from Leicester at around 8.00 pm.
6). On Thurs – 3rd Nov we will celebrate Diwali with a full day Musical programme and Special lunch. There will be no Yoga. Members will have to book by buying the usual £1 ticket so that we can make appropriate arrangements. Guests will be welcome for £15.
7). National Council of Vanik Associations and Navnat Vanik Association (UK) have organised a health seminar on the topic : “Protecting Heart Function and Heart Health” by Dr. Ameet Bakhai, Consultant Cardiologist, in Gujarati and English, at Navnat Hayes on Sunday- 23rd Oct from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm followed by lunch. If you are interested in attending, you have to Register on a site. However Dr. Pragnaben Mandalia has arranged a Form to put your name at the Main Table, if you intend to attend.
8). We are now full steam ahead for our grand 10th Anniversary programme on Thurs – 16th Feb 2017, at the VIP Lounge in Edgware. We have arranged a full day Musical programme with a Special delicious lunch and soon we will have special tickets for distribution. Members will have to pay £5 only (rest subsidised by Kendra). Guest will have to pay full charge - £25. As we have announced, a Souvenir is being published to commemorate the occasion. We request members to try and obtain Adverts or well wish messages from friends or you can give a message. We have received many such well wish messages. Also we are arranging to have a special raffle draw of prizes for the numbered ticket you will have in your possession. If you wish to sponsor any good prize, please contact the Secretary.
9). As many members go on holidays soon and as the time has come for renewal of membership for 2017, we will email Renewal Forms to members. Forms will be available from the Main Desk also. The good news is that despite the cost of everything, including rent for Hall having gone up, the Executive Committee has decided to keep the fees for next year same - £90. The reason being our members have always been very generous and have remembered Kendra for donations or sponsorship, whenever they celebrated some occasions in the family. We are highly thankful to you all and we are sure that all will keep up the same spirit. Please complete the form in every detail and hand over the same to Punambhai Patwa. The deadline for renewal is 15th Dec 2016. If you do not intend to renew your membership, please let us know.
10). A Gujarati thriller drama film – “WRONG SIDE OF RAJU” will be shown in UK on Sat -22nd at 7.00 pm and on Sun – 23rd at 1.00 pm at the Safari Cinema. Kendra has negotiated for the tickets at £6 for members and their family and friends. If you are interested to see the film on any of the days, please write your names on the list at the Main Desk. The reviews of the film are good and the story is based on real like Hit & Run case.
11). Mahavir Foundation has arranged “Ayambil Oli” from Sat -8th Octo to Sun – 16th Oct. Anyone wishing to take part should contact Dr Vinodbhai Kapashi. Jain Calendar for new year will be available from Deraser.
12). Jasuben Sheth announced that the second part of the Cricket Teaser will be next Thursday, immediately after lunch and both the Team Captains should get their teams ready.
