ANNOUNCEMENTS ON WEDNESDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER 2014
1.‘Chaas’ during the month of September is sponsored by Manjulaben Patwa. Many thanks to her on behalf of Kendra.
2. After lunch today, we are having an ‘Antakshari’ programme and as usual at Tea-time, Kendra will provide tea and biscuits.
3. Next Thursday, 11th Sept we will have some games.
4. Our 12 day trip to Turkey from 11th September has now 3 seats available (also, only if airline tkts are also available) and if anyone is interested, please inform Jayantbhai Doshi or Chimanbhai Sheth.
5. The first film show at the Cineworld in Staples Corner is ‘Kick’ starring Salman Khan, next Tuesday, 9th September at 10.30 am. We have booked the whole screen (100 seats) and also arranged for lunch with Ram Restaurant on Kenton Road. We are happy that all the tickets have been sold out. Thereafter the films will be : EK VILLAIN on 16/9, ENTERTAINMENT on 23/9 and HUMSHAKALS on 30/9 and the tickets will be available from the Box Office at £3
6. On Thursday, 25th Sept, we have organised a whole day programme of ‘Blood Pressure and Health Awareness Day’. The event has been organised jointly in collaboration with HPGEM and British Heart Foundation. Please arrive by 10.00 as there is a lot of health information as well as taking Blood Pressure. There will be Yoga as usual in between the programmes.
7. The newsletter for the month of September has been uploaded on our Website. A few hard copies are available for those members who do not have any access to computers. Pls collect from me later on.
8. A reminder to the Committee Members – our EC Meeting is on Monday- 8th Sept at 10.00 am at Sattavis Patidar Centre.
9. Navnat Bhagini Samaj has organised a “Geet Bhari Shaam” by Shama and Group on Saturday, 20th Sept at Navnat Centre, Hayes. Tkts are £15 with Dinner. Tkts available from Niluben Jashapara or any Bhagini Committee member.
10. Everyone is requested to sign in the Register at the main Table including all guests. Guests should ensure to obtain Guest Pass from Vinod Parekh.
11. Jayantbhai Doshi informed members that Premlataben Parekh had completed 95 days of ‘Upvaas’ and since this was a great achievement, we are going to do her ‘Bahuman’ . He then called our President – Baburai Shah to come and bestow on her a ‘saal’ on behalf of Kendra. Baburai Shah bestowed a saal on her with Kendra’s heartiest congratulations and Best Wishes. He also congratulated all other ‘Tapasvis’ and wished them ‘sata’.
Jayantbhai also informed members that Pankajbhai Vora, who had previously come to Kendra and given a programme on poems is due to appear on MTV channel from 9.30 to 10.30 pm.
He also informed members that there is a very interesting day programme to visit the National Science Museum where a spectacular programme is on upto 28th Sept. The charge for Seniors –over60 and in a group of over 10- is £3.40. Interested members should give their names to Ellaben Shah.
12. Jasuben Sheth informed members that in future we want to arrange a programme where members have a chance to come and express their views after arriving in this country – like what they achieved and learnt. Interested members to give their names to Ellaben Shah.
13. The next session of the ‘Walk and Talk ‘ programme will be on 2nd October at 9.45am and there will be no programme for next three Thursdays.
