1). President – Vinod Parekh announced : * A member had complained last week that the Ladies Toilets were very dirty and it seemed these had not been cleaned. Today, I went with the Managerial staff of Sattavis Patidar Centre and checked first thing when we arrived and found that the toilets were very clean. Later on again when we went to check, we found that tissues were thrown all over and the floor was dirty. Since there was no other programme at the Centre, it was obvious that our members are not taking care to ensure that we all use the toilets like we use at our homes and keep it neat and tidy. Please therefore do take care like our own toilets. However, should there be any complaints of faults in taps etc, please notify us quickly so that we can inform the staff accordingly.
* Last week we noticed that after lunch, when members went to keep the empty plates and glass at the Waste Bins positioned in the corner, some members had washed their hands and the empty utensils were thrown badly in the Bin, instead of piling nicely. But washing hands in the bins with black bag inside made the bag slip inside and it was all a mess ( we have evidence of photos). We request you all that if you want to wash your hands there are several wash rooms and please pile the plates and glasses on the table nicely in future.
* For the information of new members – please note we order lunch from our Caterers and we do not prepare any food in the Kitchen here. It is therefore not possible to satisfy your choice of food so please do not compare with others. Ours is a multi cultural organisation and we can not cater for any particular choice.
2). Today's warm-up Yoga was done by Dhirubhai Galani, who performed several poses to loosen all body joints and the main Yoga by Manishaben, who gave many health tips and also called on the stage Kishorebhai Lakhani to encourage him personally to do several yogic poses for back problems and other chair yoga poses. It was a great idea to call a, so to say – novice and make him perform the poses. NVK's many thanks to all of them.
3). After lunch today, we will have “Antakshri” and as usual, at Tea Time, NVK will serve tea, coffee and biscuits.
(Today's lunch included 'Bundi na ladu', Punjabi Samosa, 'Channa Bhatula' etc.)
(Today's Antakshri was played in 3 Teams and every song was sung by appointing 3 members of the Team to go and pick up the piece of paper with the tune and sing the same. 3 Judges were appointed to give marks – Purnimaben Mehta, Ranjanben Sheth and Chandrakantbhai Shah. Many members also joined to continue in singing the songs nd everyone enjoyed this new format)
4). Next Thurs - 19th January we will have a programme of Bingo. Also please note that there will be Chair Yoga only for all – so do not bring your Yoga mats but do bring your rubber Yoga belt.
5). Today is the last day for renewal of membership for 2023 as we have already reminded those who have not renewed their membership several times now. After our reminders many have renewed and some members have told us they do not want to renew because of personal reasons or medical problems. We feel sorry to lose them and their fellowship and those who did not renew because of medical problems, our Best Wishes are with you.
6). Jain Social Group has organised a fund raising musical evening at Navnat Centre, Hayes on Sun – 12/02/2023 with Dinner and Musical Group from India. Tkts are £35. If you are interested, please ask members of the Jain Group.
7). Secretary - Purnimaben Mehta announced that two of our Programmes and Entertainment committee members are on holidays and only Mahesh Savadia is in the committee now. So to assist him we have chosen Naliniben Mehta, who has regularly taken part in various programmes in the past. Both of them will now continue to give us entertainment.
