NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THUR –21/6

1). We are fortunate that Today is International Yoga Day and all members participated in Yoga, which was conducted by Dhirubhai Galani, Ushaben Mehta and Dineshbhai Shah.   Many thanks to them from Kendra.

2).  DONATIONS : * Today’s Special Lunch is sponsored by Jayantbhai Doshi to celebrate the 75th Birthday of Ramaben Doshi on 14/6.  Kendra’s Heartiest Congratulations and Best Wishes for good health on behalf of all members and we pray that she will enjoy many more birthdays to come.

Jasuben Sheth recited a special poem for Ramaben’s birthday, which she had written for the occasion.
                                 * £70 from Daxaben Arunkant Doshi who celebrated her 70th birthday last Sunday.  Heartiest congratulations from Kendra and we pray that she will enjoy many more to come.

3). After lunch today we will have a special programme on “Equalities” – this is to celebrate 100 years when women of this country were given the right to vote and a say in the Government. We have invited 3 speakers : Mr. Vipool Kalyani, Mrs. Kunj Kalyani & Mrs. Bhadraben Vadgama -to speak on the subject with a slide show.

They spoke on Jayben Desai – the first Indian lady to come out in the open and joined the Labour  movement and fought for the rights of our ladies working conditions.  Many thanks to Jasuben Sheth for organising this interesting programme.

4). Next Thurs – 28/6, to celebrate “Parliamentary Week”, we have invited speakers from Councils to speak to our gathering and as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will provide tea and biscuits.

5).  Today, we had an interesting seminar by Macmillan from 10.30 to 12.30 pm in the upstairs Seminar Room and 25 members took part.  Thanks to Pragnaben Mandalia for arranging this.

6).  Jayantbhai Doshi announced * That our next Summer trip is to Isle of Wight from 23/7 for 4 nights and 5 days.  All details have been sent to members.  The response is good and members who have registered their names were requested to bring their payments by 28/6 to confirm their places.

He also informed members about keeping their personal health details and next of kin contacts in their pouch as it is very essential in case of emergency, particularly to medical crew when attending any emergency.  Pragnaben Mandalia to be contacted for more details.
