1). The President – Vinod Parekh announced : * He wished everyone a Happy New Year and that we will see all again next Thurs - 5th January in the New Year.
* He wished that members who have still not renewed their Membership can do so now or next week. We do not wish to lose any current members. Our fees are only £125 for a year and it is not possible to meet the ever increasing costs and expenses and yet with the support and generosity of members we have tried to pull through. Also we have issued ID cards with the sticker for 2023 for those who have renewed and from next year we will be checking the cards of all who come in the queue for lunch.
* Please appreciate that we sale the little quantity of food remaining after all have had their lunch not because NVK wanted to make money, but we have to dispose off the same and if we offer that to some members then, there are complaints from those who did not get the same (as there was not enough for distribution to all) . Hence we take the food inside and pack into small containers or bags and then keep it for sale at a reasonable rate. He requested all to follow the system.
* We have seen that after the Covid lockdowns and re-opening, many members are still not coming or are afraid to come at our gatherings and some others have yet to renew their membership for 2023. If you know any of these members, or are your friends, please try and speak to them and encourage them to join in the gatherings as usual.
2). Today's Warm-up Yoga was done by Dineshbhai T Shah and the main Yoga was conducted by Manishaben, who conducted Yogic poses and stretches of all hands and legs and body joints. Thanks to both from NVK.
3). DONATIONS : £60 from Kantibhai Jivraj Shah who celebrated his 88th birthday on 26/12. We wish him happy Birthday and hope he will enjoy many more birthdays to come. Purnimaben Meswani then sang the “Baar bar ye din aaye...” song and everyone joined with her.
4). After lunch today, we have changed the programme and Vinodbhai Kapashi will give us all details.
(Today's menu included “Bundi” and Khandvi etc.
At Tea Time, NVK will serve tea and the sponsored biscuits as usual.
5). This is our last meeting for this year 2022. We will next meet in the new year 2023 on Thurs – 05 Jan when we will have a very interesting programme.
Till then we say Bye Bye to 2022 and Welcome to 2023 and wish you all a very Happy and prosperous New Year.
6). Vinodbhai Kapashi announced that this afternoon we could not have the announced programme of Holiday Experiences by Vinod Parekh and Dhirubhai Galani as Dhirubhai could not come today. We will have that on some other day. This afternoon we are having Quiz with four teams on Bollywood and other topics like – History, Geography etc. So please join in the “Gyan sathe gammat” Quiz. Next Thurs - 5th January we are having an interesting programme which we will let you know by Email.
