Announcements - Thursday 2nd March 2023

Thursday, 2 March 2023

1). Secretary - Purnimaben Mehta announced : i) President - Vinod Parekh was due to return and attend this programme, but unfortunately flight delays and Airport problems on departure could not fly him back.  He has sent his Best Wishes to all members for today's programme.

ii). Members are still parking on Disabled Bays without Badge and in non- parking areas despite many announcements. Today two cars have been parked in no parking near the main entrance to the Hall, thus blocking Dial-a-Ride buses.  We request yet again members should only park in properly marked Parking Bays and also at the Disabled Bays only with Blue Badge.

iii). During today's Yoga, whilst members were performing Savasana Yoga pose, other members were found chatting thus the silence was not maintained.  Also a member's Mobile rang and instead of  going out of the Hall to talk, the member started talking on the phone, thus disturbing the Savasana Yoga. We request that members maintain complete silence during Yoga and if you need to talk on Mobile, please go out of the Hall,

2). Today’s Yoga was conducted by Bhavnaben Jogi.  She was assisted by Ushaben Mehta on Stage.  Bhavnaben conducted several Yoga poses to tone up body joints with smiles on everyone's faces insisting on correct poses.  She conducted Yoga poses resembling the 'Elephant Walk', took to 'Dhobighat' to clean clothes and then dry on strings and also how to feel fruit juice in glasses and drink whilst doing Yoga poses.  Everyone enjoyed the Yoga whilst laughing hearty, vigorous and cheerfully.  Many thanks to both from NVK

3). After lunch today, we will have a talk on Plant Based Diet by Dr Tila Kansagra and as usual at Tea Time, NVK will serve Tea, Coffee and Biscuits.

Today's Lunch Menu included 'Habsi Halwa', 'Kachori', Khichdi and Kadhi, etc)

Dr, Tila Kansagra who is a Plant Promoting Doctor, with the help of screen and slides, gave a very
detailed explanation on what is plant based diet and its benefits.  A plant based diet is natural foods hat
are not heavily processed and are whole, unrefined or minimally refined ingredients and the food comes
from plants and is free from animal ingredients such as meat, milk, eggs or honey.  If one wants to
improve their health, boost energy levels, and prevent chronic diseases, plant based diet has been proven
to be very helpful. There is scientific evidence that many chronic diseases can be prevented or controlled.
After the talk some members asked questions and proper answers were given by Tilaben.
Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi gave a vote of thanks.  Secretary - Purnimaben Mehta gave a Bouquet of Flowers
as a Token of Appreciation.  Everybody enjoyed the interesting talk.
