1). President – Vinod Parekh announced full details of the Musical Programme on Thurs – 13/04/23 : * The Programme will be held In the other Big Hall and doors will be opened at 10.30 am. If anyone comes early, they will have to wait outside in the Foyer as volunteers will complete all layout in the Hall by then.
* Everyone (including all guests) will have to write their names in the Register, submit their tickets to the Gate Volunteers and then enter the Hall.
* There will be free seating on any Table with “First come first Basis” and there will be no reservation of chairs allowed, except for your partner. Members coming with more guests will be allowed to seat with them.
*Programme will start at 11.00 am. Dress code is – Gents : Smart and Ladies : Colourful Saris.
* If any member wants to sponsor any items, please let us know.
* There will be 2 tables reserved for the Committee Members and one for the Kitchen volunteers in front rows. 2 Tables for the Disabled will be near the Gates.
* All Tables will have numbers and Table numbers will be called at Lunch time. Even Disabled tables will have to wait till their number is called and service to them will be given. Table numbers will be on the Menu kept on your tables.
* At Lunch time, there will be two rows on both sides of the Hall where Volunteers will serve the 11 items on the menu.
* Ice Cream will be served at 3.00 pm.
2). We wish all a very Happy “Mahavir Jayanti” on this auspicious day.
3). Today's Zumba workout was conducted by Debjani. She started all the workout with music by giving instructions on how to perform the movements and she was really a perfectionist and pointed out to members doing the moves wrongly. She played very tuneful musical songs with the moves she conducted. Everyone enjoyed the session immensely and clapped after every song was played. Many Thanks to her from NVK.
4). DONATIONS : I) “Chaas” for the month of April is sponsored in memory of late Shardaben Jayantilal Shah, who was our member, by her son Seju and daughter in law – Pritiben Shah. Kendra's many thanks and we pray for her soul to rest in eternal peace.
ii) £11 from Kanakrai Doshi on the occasion of his birthday on 6th April. NVK's Best Wishes and thanks, and we pray that he will enjoy many more birthdays to come.
5). After lunch today, we will have a surprise programme from the Entertainment Committee and as usual at Tea Time, NVK will serve tea, coffee and the sponsored biscuits.
(Today's Menu included : “Churma Na Ladu”, Bhel. Punjabi Samosa, Biryani etc.)
In last week's announcements we made an error in writing the name of one member who took part in the Mahavir Jayanti programme – Shirishbhai who recited a Jain Stavan was named as Shirishbhai Shah instead of Shirishbhai Dodhia. We are sorry for writing the wrong surname.
The Programme started after all groups were organised and their leader chosen. Mahesh Savadia gave details of the game after distributing a question sheet to all groups. All the questions needed one answer of a Girls name after a descriptive word was given. A very interesting game with all groups discussing what the correct answer will be. After the time was over, he took the answers written on the sheet by the Groups and exchanged with other groups to check the correct answers he gave. The winner of the Group Game were as shown in the photograph below. Congratulations to the winners :
6). We will now meet again on Next Thursday - 13/04/23 when we will have our Grand Spring whole day Musical Programme.
7). Secretary – Purnimaben Mehta announced about the surprise programme In the afternoon and said that Mahesh Savadia has arranged a game to be played in 6 groups of 6 people each and a leader will be chosen for each Group. He will give full details of the game. So she requested members to take part and all to stay behind to see the Programme.
* Sthankwasi 'Jain Panchang' donated by Avantibhai Jasani is kept on the Front Desk. Anyone interested should take the same.
