ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURSDAY 29TH JANUARY 2015

1.We welcome members who have been able to attend today’s gathering.  However several of our members are unable to attend because of ill health.  Several other members have some health problems.  We pray for their speedy recovery so that they can come and enjoy our future programmes.

2.  We welcome back Manishaben from her holidays in India.  

3.  DONATIONS :     Today’s Special Lunch is sponsored by Taraben Jayantilal Sheth.  Many thanks to her from Kendra.

4.  Today after lunch we will have a programme on India’s 66th Republic Day and also Gandhi Bapu’s Nirvana day.  Vinodbhai Kapashi gave a brief history on both these subjects and several members recited patriotic songs.  There was a screen presentation also.  Many thanks to all who were involved in making this interesting programme.

5. Next week on 5th Feb we will have an ‘Antakshri’programme.

6.  On Sunday - 8th March at 12.00 noon, we have booked a Gujarati play “CHORNA HAATHMA CHAVI” by Kiran Purohit.  Tickets will be £10.  Members can have their breakfast and come and see the play.  Maybe they can then have their lunch in Ealing Road.  Full details will be given soon.

7. We have organised a very colourful and enjoyable programme on 16th April to renew the marriage vows of couples who have reached 40 years of marriage.  A special ‘panditji’ will come on that day. Members wishing to take part should give their names to Jasuben.

8.  We are planning a 18 day trip to Japan & Korea from 11th to 28th May and only a limited numbers will be taken.  Preference will be given to NVK members. Itinerary and details of the tour will be given after all the details are worked out.  Lunch is not included but we will try to arrange snacks, fruits etc, whichever is possible.  We cannot guarantee Jain food.  Member or guest will be taken on first come first basis (and this will be on receipt of a deposit cheque).  Cost will be in the region of £3600 or thereabouts.  Porter service is not included and all joining are advised to carry baggage they can handle.  Walking and travelling in trains will be involved, hence it is important for reasonable fitness and ability to walk.  Those interested should give their names to Jayantbhai Doshi.

9.  Those members who gave their email address and are not getting emails from me or Jayantbhai Doshi, should write their proper email address and give to me again.

10.  Oshwal UK and Patel Samaj UK have organised a very important seminar on grooming of Hindu girls for entrapment and sexual relationships by individuals and gangs, at Sattavis Patidar Centre on this Sunday – 1st Feb. from 6.00 to 8.30 pm.  Registration at 5.30 pm.  Prasad Dinner and refreshments will be served.

11. Our member – Dr Vindodbhai Kapashi will be giving a programme every Tuesdays from 8.20 pm to 8.50 pm on MATV Channel 793.  He will speak on Jainism - path of peace & Non-violence.

12.  Mahavir Foundation- Ladies Wing is organising a Dinner, Dance & Musical Programme on Sunday -8th March at the Kingsbury High School from 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm.  Tkts are available from Sudhaben Kapashi.

13.  Vinod Parekh announced last week that yet again we have received an invitation from Gauriben and Ashwin Sheth  of  Lions Club of Feltham & Witton for 10 members from Kendra to an entertainment programme at Harrow Leisure Centre on 22nd Feb from 1.30 pm.  Those who have not been to this annual programme before should give their names to him.  Many thanks to Gauriben and Ashwin Sheth for their generousity.

14.  Please hang your coats etc on the Coat Hanger, which is kept near the main door.  Members are requested not to occupy chairs with their coats.

15.  Everyone including all guests are requested to sign in the Register at the Entrance Table and Guests are requested to obtain their Passes from Vinod Parekh.
