12.  Our Hon. Secretary – Jayantbhai Doshi welcomed the MP – Bob Blackman and thanked him for accepting the invitation sent to him to join our gathering.  He gave a brief information about Kendra – our membership of over 400 and another 400 on Waiting List. He also stated how helpful Bob Blackman had been to solve one resident’s immigration problem.
The MP had in fact been very helpful to any Harrow resident who had approached him with their problems.

The MP then gave a short talk and expressed his regrets for not being present to see our Yoga class.  He said he was very happy that such a large gathering of elderly people continued to do Yoga, citing the example of his mother-in-law who is still very active in Yoga at the age of 80!!.  He is still fighting for Hindu rights and raising up our issues with the Government.  He stated that J & K is a part of India and wants to see justice done to the ‘pandits’ there.  He requested for everyone to note the day of General Elections in Britain on 7th May.

The MP had lunch with our officials and left to attend another function.  He stated again that if anyone had any problems with Government departments, they should contact him.
