ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURSDAY 19th MARCH 2015
1.DONATIONS : £21 from Shirishchandra N Kothari on the occasion of his wife – Mradulaben’s birthday today. Our thanks, heartiest congratulations and Best Wishes and we also pray that she enjoys many more birthdays to come. Later on everyone joined in singing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song for her.
2. Today, after lunch we will have the second phase of AGM, when the current committee will be dissolved and elections will take place to elect 15 members from the 18 names received. Please ensure to vote for 15 names on the Ballot paper which has been given to members when they entered the Hall and signed in the Register. If anyone has not got the Ballot paper, please collect from Punambhai Patwa.
Today’s presence was 215 members. After lunch the meeting started with the appointment of the Independent Chairman (Returning Officer) – Harshadbhai Sanghrajka. He took the chair and the following four members were chosen to count the votes – Harshad Mehta, Tajvanti Shah, Kishore Doshi and Mahendra Vora. The present committee was dissolved after Vote of Thanks and everyone requested to vote for 15 names on the Ballot Paper and return the same to the Box. The counting officers took several hours to count the votes. In the meantime members listened to various songs.
After the counting was over Harshadbhai Sanghrajka announced the following 15 members were elected :

3. As usual, at Tea Time, Kendra will provide Tea and Biscuits.
4. Next Thurs-26th, we will have a play Whistdrive.
5. All who went to see the film – ‘ROY’ on last Tuesday at Cineworld, and had joined in the lunch, had an enjoyable time
6. We have restarted the Walking Group from today, under Pragnaben Mandalia. If you want to join the Group, please come at 10.15am on Thursdays.
7. Our annual trip, similar to the one we used to go to ‘Potters Resort’ will this year be organised at Manor House & Ashbury Hotels in Devon, from Sun- 12th to Fri -17th July. This will be a 5 night and 6days trip. Price for members -£335 and for guests - £345(for two sharing). Price includes transport. There are all the usual facilities and we will book for 50 on First come First Basis, so reserve your places.
8. We have organised a very colourful and enjoyable programme on 16th April to renew the marriage vows of couples. A special ‘panditji’ will come on that day. Members wishing to take part should give their names to Jasuben. So far 11 names of couples have been received and a few more names can be given.
9. We had sent email to members about the show – Classical Spectacular’- at the Royal Albert Hall today at 7.30pm. As usual £1 for charity has to be paid. Anyone wishing to see this should contact Binaben Shah on 07950830253 and collect the tickets from her.
10. Tomorrow – Friday at around 9.30 am is the Solar Eclipse which will be seen only partially in UK. Please ensure children and other do not look directly at the sun to see the spectacle.
11. Everyone is requested to sign in the Register at the Entrance Table.
12. Vinod Parekh announced if anyone wanted to sponsor ‘chaas’ should approach him.
