2.  Today, because of the programme, we have a special lunch with ‘Shrikhand’.  After lunch we will have a colourful programme of ‘Renewal of Wedding Vows’.  Please stay behind to see this very interesting programme.

Everyone had come wearing colourful clothes befitting a wedding occasion. The brides had come wearing red or green sari and the groom wore Indian dress with ‘Safo’.  Jasuben Sheth and her helpers – Pragnaben Mandalia and Ellaben Shah had really worked very hard to present a real wedding ceremony with a ‘Panditji’- Nimuben Bhatt, who conducted the full wedding ceremony excellently, accompanied by singers- Sudhaben Kapashi, Purnimaben Meswani and Jayshreeben (who also gave a wonderful dance).

The ‘Jaan’ who arrived with dances and ‘dandias’ were welcomed by everyone.  The brides and grooms were then welcomed with ‘chandlo’ and flowers. Nimuben then conducted the ‘Kanya Aagman’ ceremony, Exchange of ‘Haar’ (flowers),’Hastamelap’and ‘Agni Puja & Mangal Phera’.  She read the ‘Amatran Patrika’ and even recited the ‘Saptapadi’ – the seven vows in modern day version.  Finally there was the ‘Akhand Sobhagyavati Aashirvaad’ blessings from all present and ‘Kansaar’ with exchange of sweets.  Everyone then enjoyed the Ice Cream.

This was genuinely a ‘par excellence’ programme witnessed by nearly all the 270 members and guests who attended today.  Jasuben Sheth and her assistants and all the volunteers were thanked by the Hon. Secretary.  Nimben Bhatt as the ‘Panditji’ was marvellous.  Kendra’s heartiest thanks to all.
