ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE ON THURSDAY 31st JULY 2014

1.After lunch today we will have a gujarati natak prepared by Dr Vinodbhai & Sudhaben Kapashi, called “Bhenonu Bakkhadjantar”.  This will be quite interesting so please take your seats after lunch and remain quiet to enjoy the same.  Also, as usual, at Tea Time, tea/coffee and biscuits will be served.
Several members stayed behind to see this natak and thanks go to Jasuben Sheth, Vinodbhai & Sudhaben Kapashi for preparing the same in short time.

2. Next Thursday 7th August, we will have a programme of Quiz.  on the theme : Rakshabandhan and India’s Independence Day.

3. On Tuesday,12th August we are going to arrange a grand summer picnic – a day outing at Willen Lake, Milton Keyes.  We have booked two coaches and cost per member will be £15.  You can bring your grandchildren – upto 12 years- cost £10.  Names are to be given to Ellaben Shah or Jayesh Shah.  Kendra will provide all food but you will have to bring your own water.

4. We have arranged a 12 day trip to Turkey from 11th September. The trip is now full and any more names will now be put on the waiting list.

5.  We have made a deal with Cineworld Staples Corner and our President – Baburai Shah will give full details on the same.

6. Navnat Vanik Association is holding their usual ‘Janmashtami Mela’ on Saturday 9th August from 12 noon to 8pm at Hayes.   There will be food stalls, children’s rides etc, Dances, Bhajans, Yoga etc.  If you want hire a stall contact : Ramesh Shah.

7. Everyone is requested to sign in the Register at the main Table including all guests.  Guests should ensure to obtain Guest Pass from Vinod Parekh.

8. Our President - Baburai Shah informed that older members will remember that some years ago we used to arrange film show with lunch.  We have now made a deal with Cineworld Staples Corner, Wembley.  From the 1st or 2nd week in September, we will hire the whole theatre, which has around 100 seats and arrange for films for members at a subsidised rate of £1 and for guests at £3. The show will start at 11.00 am.  We are also looking into the possibility of arranging a deal for £5 for both the film and lunch.  We will soon have the tickets for sale for the first show.  We request members to support us.

Baburai Shah also announced the names of the members in the Walk & Talk group organised by Dr Pragnaben Mandalia and informed them that the walks in August will be on 14th/21st and 28th.  Members requested to give their emails and contact nos to Pragaben.

9. Jasuben announced that next week we will have a quiz on the theme : Rakshabandhan and India’s Independence Day. Members should come prepared. 

10. Vinod Parekh gave details of the picnic on 12th August.  Coach will leave Harrow Leisure Centre at 8.00 am and on reaching Milton Keynes, there will be Yoga for one hour, followed by brunch at around 11.00 am. There will then be games, walking and entertainment.  A late lunch will be served at around 3.30 pm and we expect to depart at around 5.00 pm
