1). Today we had a wonderful Zumba session from Nishaben Hirani assisted by Chandrikaben Patel. Yet again the Hall was full of members at the very start to join in the Zumba session. It was nice to see that even the very elderly keenly joined in the workout. Nishaben started with full workout including Yogic poses to tone up most of the body joints and muscles and even though it was a chilly weather, everyone warmed up. Nishaben continued with fast workout without wasting any time in between. She continued with rhythmic moves with music like Macarena, Swahili famous songs like - Jambo - Hakuna Matata, etc. Even our members - Mahesh Savadia, Neemaben Kakad and Shobhnaben Haria came near the stage to sing the Malaika song. Everyone enjoyed the session immensely with rounds of applause. Many thanks to all from NVK.
Nishaben even announced that it was her daughter - Sonali's 24th birthday today. So the Happy Birthday song was recited by Sudhaben Kapashi and everyone joined in singing and wishing Sonali.
2). Sad news - our member - DR ANILKUMAR G GANDHI - age 81- passed away on 08/12/23 in Haridwar - India. He was the husband to our member -JAINDRABALA (JYOTIBEN).
Both had joined NVK since Sept 2008 and had attended in most of our gatherings, activities, trips and programmes. He was a very friendly person ever smiling and always looking forward to join in our gatherings for fellowship, enjoyment and meeting friends. He bravely came out in Wheelchair for the last few years and carried on meeting friends as usual. He will be sadly missed by all.
On behalf of all NVK members, we offer our sincere condolences to the family members of late Dr. Anilkumar and pray to Lord Krishna to rest the deceased's soul in eternal peace and give courage to the family to bear the loss with fortitude.
We will now observe a minute's silence to pray for his soul.

His cremation was performed in Haridwar on Monday. He was a lucky person to get his last wish to see Haridwar and find ultimate peace in the holy land.
3). DONATIONS : i) Presents for all 16 members of both the choir groups from Ramaben and Jayantbhai U Doshi. - Ladies were given a scarf and ear-ring and gents were given Cuff links and Tie Pin. Many thanks from NVK
ii). Mahesh Savadia had brought chocolates and sweets for distribution as Father Christmas. Many thanks.
4). After lunch today we are going to have Christmas carols from the St. John's Church, Greenhill and also another group like last year. They will sing many melodious Christmas carols and even some Hindi carols. So please join in the festivities this afternoon.
As usual at Tea Time, NVK will provide Tea/Coffee and the sponsored Biscuits.
(Today's Lunch Menu included : 'Raas Malai', Samosa, Puri, Mixed green beans and muthia nu saakh, Bhaat, Daal etc)
The afternoon programme of Christmas choirs began at 2.00 pm with Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi giving a short introduction of the two Groups.
First the St. John's Church , Greenhill came to the stage and sang many tuneful Christmas choirs with music and many members joined with them and dancing.
Then, the second Group - 'Naya Jivan Church' - belonging to the same Church, with Rev. Ajay More started the Hindi Choirs. Again many members joined in singing and dancing with them.
The choirs then sang the final carol of - 'We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
All members joining and wishing everyone a Merry Xmas.
Ellaben Shah, who had made all the arrangements to bring the choir Groups to our Programme, gave Vote of Thanks. A token of Appreciation to the St. John's Church was also given from NVK.
Yet again the programme was a huge success and everyone enjoyed their day.
5). Next Thurs – 21st Dec, we will have in the morning session - one hour of TAI CHI - by Instructor ZHIJUN WANG from 11.00 am to 12.00 noon and then there will be Zumba workout by Nishaben Hirani (By members request ). In the afternoon we will have a programme of Jokes by members. Please give your names to Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi. Please no vulgar jokes .
6). Still some members have not renewed their membership for next year. We request that they do so urgently before the deadline of next week. In case they have not been able to come for their photo to be taken by Chimanbhai, please do send a passport size photo to us by Email.
7). ALLERGY STATEMENT : Food supplied by our Caterers - Meera's may contain or manufactured in a facility that process ALLERGENS - such as Dairy products, wheat, soya, nuts and seeds etc.
8). V.P - Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi, announced about the afternoon's programme of Christmas Carols by the two groups. Next Thurs - 21/12, we will have a programme of "Hase tena vase' -
