ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE ON THURSDAY10th JULY 2014
1.We welcome members who have come today. However, several of our members are sick or have medical problems and have been unable to attend for several weeks now. We have been informed that Jayantilal Sheth and Vidulaben Ramniklal Shah have been unable to attend because of health problems. Jayantilal Sheth had a successful eye operation and has attended today. We pray that all the members who are unwell recover soon and attend our functions.
2.DONATIONS : £50 from Champaben Shantilal Mehta on the occasion of her 84th birthday today. Everyone joined in singing the Happy Birthday song and Kendra wishes her a very happy birthday and also pray that she enjoys many more birthdays to come. Kendra’s thanks for her donation.
£51 from Sushilaben and Chhotalal Kothari on the achievement of their grandson – Kyle Kothari, who received Gold at the diving competition of British Junior Elite Championship. He has thus qualified for the European and World Junior Championships later this year. Kendra’s thanks and heartiest congratulations to them. We wish him more success.
3. After lunch today we will have a talk from Bhadraben Vadgama and as usual at Tea Time, we will have tea and biscuits.
4. Next Thursday –17th July we have organised a whole day ‘Mid-summer Musical Programme’ from 11.00 am to 3.30 pm with Special Lunch, and there will be no Yoga. Music is by the ‘Music Masti’ Group. The booking is now full and we regret that we had to disappoint some further bookings. All members who will be coming should bring with them the white ticket as well as their Kendra ID. Dress code is saris for the ladies and smart dress for the gents. Volunteers are also needed for preparations and they are requested to come early.
5. On 24th July we have organised a cooking demonstration.
6. Kendra’s planned Yoga Retreat has now been postponed till next year.
7. We have arranged a 12 day trip to Turkey from 11th September.( Please note we have changed the dates until after Priti Bhojan.) In view of the change in dates, there is slight increase in flight fare. However members will be given transport from Harrow Leisure Centre to London Gatwick. Full details will be sent by email. The charge for members is £960 and for non-members -£975. Names to be given to Chimanbhai Sheth – TEL : 01442 768959 – email : dischiman@gmail.com on payment of the deposit of £400. We have already received 41 names and only 45 will be taken.
8. Members who went on the Iceland cruise have returned and they all had a very successful and wonderful holiday. The tour made a surplus of £500, which has been donated to Kendra. We thank all the members on the tour for their kind gesture.
9. National Council of Vanik Associations has published a Directory of vaniks and a copy will be posted to all who have registered their names with the Association.
10. Everyone is requested to sign in the Register and Guests are requested to obtain guest pass from Vinod Parekh.
