NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS –13th June ‘19

1).  We welcome those members and guests who have attended today.  However some members have been unable to attend as they were not well or hospitalised.  We wish them speedy recovery and look forward to their attending Kendra’s future programmes.

2).  Fri - 21/6 is World Yoga Day when Yoga will be celebrated with many programmes throughout the world. Indian PM - Narendra Modiji will be taking part in a grand Yoga programme in India.  We will inform you of the various programmes organised in London to celebrate the Yoga Day.  Also Yoga is now becoming very popular as everyone has realised its importance in our health and many Doctors are now prescribing patients to do Yoga for their health problems.

3). After lunch today we will have Bingo Games and as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will provide Tea and Biscuits.

(Many members stayed behind after lunch to participate in Bingo games and there were some surprise prizes which added to everyone’s enjoyment.)

4). Next Thurs – 20th June, Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi has arranged a very interesting debate on “Generation Gap”

5).  On 16th of June some of our members are going on 16 days River Danube cruise.  Also some members have already gone on Mexico tour last week.  We wish all of them a happy and enjoyable holiday.

6). Newsletter for June was distributed last week and only few members had collected the same.  Copies will be available afterwards.

7). Yesterday an email was sent to all members regarding the programme at Royal Albert Hall – Cinderella – The Ballet on Fri -14/6 for shows at 2.30 pm or 7.30 pm. Already over 100 Charity tickets for £2 have been collected and no more are available.  So please do not ring Binaben Shah now.  Our heartiest thanks to Binaben for giving our members an opportunity to see this famous show.

8). World Cup Cricket – The India Vs New Zealand match today was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to heavy rain in Nottingham. Also the century maker – Shikhar Dhawan’s left hand thumb has a hairline fracture and will not be playing to 3 weeks and Rushab Pant was flown from India to join in the team.  If you want to watch the Sunday’s match between India and Pakistan on large screen at Sattavis Patidar Centre, please go to their office and get tickets for £10.

9). You must have read about the discontinuation of free TV licences for over 75s from next year. Only those getting pension credit will be able to get free licence.  Charity Age UK has started a petition on line opposing the BBC's decision to scrap this, which has already attracted over 170,000 signatures and another 20,000 have supported a petition on UK Parliament’s website.

10). Navnat Vadil Mandal has organised a Fathers Day programme with music on 14/6 at Navnat Centre.  If you are interested contact Chandrakant Shah.

11).  Vinodbhai Kapashi announced about the debate programme – Generation Gap -next week and requested members who wished to take part to give their names to Kusumben Punater.
