ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE ON THURSDAY 14th AUGUST 2014

1.We welcome members who have attended today.  However a few members are not well and have not been able to attend.  Hasmukhrai Kothari is back after his heart surgery.  Rameshbhai J.Shah has had his knee surgery.  We pray that all unwell members recover soon and attend Kendra’s activities.

2. After lunch today, we are having a programme on Indian Independence Day with artists from outside and as usual at Tea-time, Kendra will provide tea and biscuits.
Jasuben Sheth and Nimaben Kakad had arranged a very interesting and colourful programme with dances, parades and patriotic songs with Indian flags being waved all over the Hall.  The outside artists were Ninaben Keshani and Kalpanaben Bhatt, who both performed several tuneful dances.   Several members sang patriotic songs.  The programme was very well presented and Jayantbhai Doshi thanked Jasuben, Nimaben and the artists for arranging such a show.  All the volunteers and participants were also thanked.
Dr Vinodbhai Kapashi gave a brief history of India that led to the independence struggle.
Our President – Baburai Shah presented tokens of appreciation to the artists and thanked everyone for such a colourful show.

3. Next Thursday, 21st August we will have a lecture by Sadhviji – Dr Sahejaji, who has been invited by the Mahavir Fondatin during Paryushan.  She is a very learned scholar.

4. We regret that our picnic to Willen Lake, Milton Keynes on Tuesday,12th August had to be cancelled due to bad weather. The picnic has now been postponed .  There will be no picnic on 19th also as Navnat Vadil Mandal are having an outing on that day. A new date will be announced.

5. Our 12 day trip to Turkey from 11th September is full, but there is a possibility of 2 places.  If interested inform Jayantbhai Doshi. 

6.  The first film show at the Cineworld in Staples Corner is ‘Kick’ on Monday, 8th September. We have booked the whole theatre (100 seats).

7.  Please note in your diary that we will not be meeting on Thursday -4th September as all the Halls have been booked.  Instead we will meet on Wednesday -3rd Sept.

8.  We will meet as usual on 28th August, which falls during ‘Paryushan’

9.  Mahavir Foundation’s annual Paryushan will again this year be held at the Kingsbury High School from 22nd to 29th August and Navnat Vanik Association’s will be held at Hayes on the same dates. Those who would like to attend the Paryushan at Navnat can get the £10 pass from Surbhiben Khona.

10.  India’s Independence Day will be celebrated at the Indian Gymkhana, Islworth on 24th August in the morning from 10.30 to 12.30.  Admission is free.  Mahavir Foundation’s Pathsala children will present an item called Glimpses of History of India.

11. Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi will speak about Paryushan on MATV channel 793 on Monday, 18th August at 8.30pm.

12. Everyone is requested to sign in the Register at the main Table including all guests.  Guests should ensure to obtain Guest Pass from Vinod Parekh.

13.  We congratulate Premlataben Parekh who has continued her fast – today is her 78th day. Our Best Wishes and hope she is ‘Satama’.

14.  We request that those who had registered with NCVA and have not received their Directory to raise their hands.  Several members had raised their hands.

15. Jayantbhai Doshi announced that the ‘Walk and Talk’ arranged by Dr. Pragnaben Mandalia in conjunction with Cancer Awareness and the British Heart Foundation had started today.  The 30 min walk will continue for  10 weeks. Pragnaben was thanked for arranging this.  A £500 grant had been received for expenses.

16.  Vinod Parekh announced that there will a film show –‘Devdas’ starring Shah Rukh Khan/Aishwarya Rai/Madhuri Dixit at the Royal Festival Hall on 21st Aug at 7.00 pm.  The usual £1 has to be paid.
