NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS –1/11
1). It is with deep regret and sadness that we inform “Arihantsaran” of our member – Shardaben Sheth – Age 82 – on 23/10. She was the wife of our member – Indravadan Sheth. Both were our members from the beginning of NVK, and late Shardaben would always come in time and sit in the front row for Yoga. We offer our sincere condolences to all members of the family and pray to Lord Mahavir to rest her soul in eternal peace and also give courage to the family to bear the loss with fortitude. We will observe a minute’s silence to pray for her soul.
2). Today’s Warm up Yoga was conducted by Jayeshbhai Shah and Manishaben conducted Yogic poses to tone up muscles and ‘Pranayam’ to tone up internal organs. Many thanks to both from Kendra.
3). DONATIONS: * “Chaas” for the month of Nov is sponsored by Chandrabala Kakad. Many thanks from Kendra.
* £ 51 from Hansaben Patani, who celebrated her birthday on 30/10. Heartiest Congratulations and we pray she enjoys many more birthdays to come.
* £ 50 and another £51 from anonymous donors towards Diwali celebrations. Kendra’s thanks to both donors.
4). After lunch today, we will have a “Depavali & Hindu Festivals Quiz with songs and dances” and as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will provide Tea and Biscuits.
( Jasuben Sheth with the help of Dr Vinodbhai Kapashi asked a set of questions on the dates of various festivals to five groups. Later on individuals were asked questions and in their answers some had ot sing songs etc. Group 2 won as they gave most correct answers. Everyone enjoyed the programme.
5). As announced, please note we are not meeting on next Thursday. Instead we will meet on Tues -6/11 when we will have Diwali “Annkut” programme. If anybody wants to bring “Prasad”, please contact Maltiben Shah. There will be Chair Yoga and Manishaben will come from 10.00 to 11.20am.
6). Newsletter for November has been emailed to members and also uploaded on our Website.
7). Over 160 members have now renewed their membership for 2019. We request members who have not yet renewed, should do so. Deadline for renewal is 15th Dec.
8). Polite request to Members/Persons on the Waiting List ringing my home telephone number to find out as to when their turn will come. Please send me email with full details of the applicant so that I can check the list of 308 names and reply by email. It is not possible to give answer on phone.
9). Jayantibhai Doshi announced : * that those joining in the Bhutan trip should meet upstairs after lunch * He had tickets for the show “The Four Seasons by Candlelight” at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank on 2/11 at 7.30pm. As usual only £1 for charity is payable. Anybody interested should collect the tickets from him. * Kiln Theatre have invited us for a community day celebrations at Kilburn on 17/11 for their show : White Teeth at 2.30pm. If you are interested, collect tickets from Vinod Parekh.
10). Jasuben gave details of the next week’s programme of “Annkut” and today’s programme after lunch – to form groups of 6/7 members.
