NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS – 20th FEB ‘20

1). Today’s Warm-up Yoga was conducted by Dineshbhai T Shah and Bhavnaben   conducted main Yoga with Yogic poses for ‘Elephant walk’, ‘Threading the needle’ ‘driving old cars’  and Yogic poses for all the body joints.  She made everyone laugh throughout and members enjoyed the same.  Many thanks to both from Kendra.

2).  As you are aware that tomorrow is “Maha Shivratri” and to celebrate the event, we have prepared ‘Thandai’.  Our famous chef – Indrakant Bakhai has prepared his speciality Thandai and you will all enjoy the same.  There will be no ‘Chaas’.  Please drink ‘Thandai’ as much as you like, but do not waste.  Kendra’s many thanks to Indrakant for his services and also to Hasmukh Parekh for bringing so much milk for the preparation of ‘Thandai’.

3). After lunch today, we will have “ Kendra has got Talent” programme and members are requested to take part and show whatever talents they have.  You can sing, recite poems, shairies or memorable incidents in your life etc and as usual at Tea time, Kendra will provide tea and biscuits.

(Today’s lunch was farari and included ‘Topra paak’ ‘pattis’, farari chevdo etc.)

Kusumben Punater started the programme with introduction and members came in turn and recited songs, shairies, incidents in their life, sketch on ‘chai and biscuit’, stories etc.  There was also a garba.    Vinodbhai Kapashi gave a short talk on his visit to India and summed up the programme. Members enjoyed the programme.

Afterwards, members were called in lines to come and get their tea/coffee and biscuits.

4).  Next Thurs – 27th Feb, Vanik Association of UK will present very interesting talk  on “Organ Donations”.

5).  President – Vinod Parekh announced : * Last week we had enjoyed Bingo games conducted by Praful.  He had also provided the chocolate roses, which were given with the Bingo prizes.  Thanks to him from Kendra.      * Lions Clubs function at the Harrow Leisure Centre on 1/3 – the names of the second table were read out and the members were asked to collect the Letters of invitations.   * We are planning a five days, four nights tour to Cotswold from 11/5 to 15/5.  Full details will be given in our circular.  * We visited Copland Nursing Home in Wembley for our Care home visits programme.  As usual this was a great success.  The Management had requested that we conduct Yoga there and we had taken Dineshbhai T Shah with us and he conducted the Yoga with the residents joining in simple Yoga poses, despite their disabilities.  Thanks to all members who joined with us.  Specially our Convenor – Purnimaben Mehta.   * Next Thursday we have ‘Organ Donation’ talk by Vanik Council of UK.  If you have any questions, please prepare and come.  * On 5th March we have organised a full day of Medical Camp and there will be no Yoga.  Pragnaben Mandalia has organised this camp on the theme of knee and hips problems - which are our most common problems of old age.

6).  Purnimaben Mehta who is the Secretary of Vanik Association of UK, announced about the next week’s ‘Organ Donations’ programme. She gave full details and requested if anyone who had donated their organs after death in their family to contact the Association.
