NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS –27th June ‘19

1).  Last week we had mentioned the passing away of Manglagauri Maniar as the mother of our member Hansaben Mandalia, but we omitted to mention that she was also the mother of our other members – Vanlilaben S Mehta and Bhartiben Shah and  mother in law of Sharadbhai Mehta and Pankaj Shah.  Our sincere apologies for omitting this information which was supplied by a third party.

2). Today’s warm-up Yoga was conducted by Jayeshbhai Shah.  Many thanks from Kendra.  Some of our members took part in the various programmes for 5th World Yoga Day celebrations and enjoyed the same.  This day was celebrated throughout the world including, you will be surprised to know, by the world’s smallest living woman in Ngpur/India – Jyoti Amge.  She has been consistent in promoting Yoga every year without fail. Indian Army personnel at Siachen Glacier –which is the world’s highest battlefield;  By dogs of the Indian Army’s Dog Unit – they did many asanas; Navy Personnel on Submarine and Aircraft carrier; Nepal at 14000ft Rohtang pass in minus 10C; river Yoga in Arunachal at Indo-Tibet border. In Dubai at Burj Khalifa Hotel etc.

3). DONATIONS : * £51 from Rasilaben and Prabhudasbhai Shah, who recently celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary.  Kendra’s Heartiest Congratulations and we pray that they will celebrate many more anniversaries to come.  
They have also donated several packets of assorted biscuits for today’s Tea Time.  Kendra’s many thanks for the donation.
* £51 from Ramanbhai G Shah who is celebrating his 80th birthday tomorrow.  We wish him a very Happy Birthday and pray that he enjoys many more to come.
* An anonymous member has donated some more biscuits.  Many thanks from Kendra.  

4). After lunch today we will have Dr Ajit Shah who will give us a talk about many health issues and provide information and guidance for senior citizens and as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will provide tea and the sponsored biscuits.
(Dr Ajit Shah gave a very interesting talk on how the senior citizens can take care of their health. Also about the knees and other problems and gave guidance.  There was a Question and Answer session also.)

5).  Next Thurs – 4/7 we will have a video show of a Gujarati Natak

6). Our Walk & Talk Group looked after by Dr. Pragnaben Mandalia will restart the project from next week – 4/7.  Regular walking keeps members healthy and happy.  Interested members are most welcome to join in the walk.

7). As announced last week, all those joining in the Mystery Trip should go to Purnimaben Mehta on the Main Table and find out their Coach and seat numbers and also obtain their tickets.

8).  Navnat Vanik Bhagini Samaj has arranged a 3 nights/4 days tour from 6th to 9th Sept to Scotland with a night at Leicester.  Cost is £345pp sharing and £400pp for single.

They have also arranged a family day picnic to Eastbourne seaside on Sun – 4/8 from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.  Cost – Adults : £15 and 3 to 12 years - £10, under 3 – free.

9). We have noted that a few members come quite early before we have time to set up and keep the Attendance Register.  However, we request them that as soon as the Register is brought, please do sign.

10).  President Vinod Parekh announced about the Mystery Trip Coach and seat numbers and members should collect their tickets and ensure to bring the same on 29/7.  He also informed member of the visit to care home – Keruna Manor in Harrow on 25/6.  As usual we entertained the residents with Garbas and Dandia Ras – something which was new to them.  It looked like ‘Navratri had come to Keruna Manor.  Even the Management of Manor were very happy and said that this was the best programme so far at the Home.  A big Thank You to the organiser – Purnimaben Mehta and the committee.

11).  Dr. Vindobhai Kapashi announced about the afternoon’s very interesting speaker – Dr. Ajit Shah.  He also informed that on 25/7 we will have a programme on “NVK has got Talent” and requested members to prepare and give their names.
