NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS –2/8

1). With your blessings and “Well wish”” messages I have now resumed all my activities and am back to normal.  Many members had sent me get well messages, rang me or visited me.  Also a member had offered to give me lift as I could not drive car for 6 weeks.  To all of you my Heartfelt thanks.

On behalf of NVK, I welcome members who have attended today but some members have been unable to attend because of sickness, baby sitting or some celebrations.  We wish speedy recovery to the sick and all to return soon, enjoy and take part in Kendra’s  activities.

2).Today’s Warm-up Yoga was conducted by Jayeshbhai Shah and Manishaben conducted Yoga postures to tone up leg muscles, Hamstring, hips, joints and all internal organs.  Many thanks to both from Kendra.

3). *Today’s lunch is sponsored by Sudhaben Kapasi to celebrate the birthday of Vinodbhai Kapashi, which was on 23/7.  Our Heartiest Congratulations, Best Wishes and pray that he enjoys many more birthdays to come.  We are indeed happy to see him still active in Kendra and communities at his age.
*August month has started and the joint sponsors for “Chaas” for the month are Navinbhai Vaid, Kusumben D Punater and Ranjanben Kundalia.  Many thanks to all from Kendra.

4). After lunch today, we will have Bingo games and as usual at Tea time instead of Tea, Kendra will serve ice cream because of the hot weather.
Just before Bingo started, Jasuben Sheth called Vinodbhai Kapashi at the stage and sang the “Happy Birthday” song and also said that Vinodbhai at this age is still very active.  Then,  Sudhaben and Vinodbhai’s grand-daughters recited a song and also played a tune on clarinet.  Everyone enjoyed this.

5).  On Thur – 16th August we will have a programme : “NVK has got Talent”

6).  Please make a note that we will NOT be meeting on Thurs – 23rd August, instead we will meet on Tues – 21/8.

7). Newsletter for August has been emailed to members and also uploaded on our website.  Few hard copies will be available for those who have no access to emails.

8). 52 members who had joined in the trip to Isle of Wight had a wonderful time as they had sunny weather, good accommodation, lively Coach Driver and good programmes, which they thoroughly enjoyed.  Several members have praised the  tour and companionship with other members.  Also our Master Chef – Indubhai Bakhai had specially prepared “Bateta nu shaakh” and “Jeera Rice” on the last day which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.  Many thanks to him.
Photographs of the trip have been uploaded on our website.  Direct link: www.nvk.org.uk/galleries/all

9). Those who want to learn Bridge, please go upstairs after lunch and see Jayantbhai Doshi.

10). I had emailed to members about the new Gujarat Card – which is promoted by the Govt of Gujarat for non-Resident Gujaratis.  There are hundreds of benefits including discounts in shops and Restaurants in Gujarat.  You can get the card online and the fee is US $5.

11).  Jasuben Sheth announced about programme on 16/8 and requested members to come prepared.

12).  President – Vinod Parekh announced that we have received 3 large Thermos – dispensable type for general use by Kendra from Rajniben and  Dhansukh Damani.  Many thanks for their generous gift.

He also clarified about the date of our Diwali Dhamaka programme which some members felt should not have been kept during mid-term holidays.  We had to select week day and not week-end because of cost factor.  Parking was a big issue during school term and hence we had to choose the mid-term holiday.  We have given you sufficient time so you can arrange to plan your holidays or make arrangement on how to take care of your grand children on that day.
