ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE ON THURSDAY 3RD JULY 2014

2. After lunch today we will have a talk from Swami Parmatmanand Saraswatiji and as usual at Tea Time, we will have tea and biscuits.
3. Next Thursday –10th July we will have a talk by Bhadra Vadgama .
4. We have organised a whole day ‘Mid-summer Musical Programme’ on 17th July from 11.00 am to 3.30 pm with Special Lunch, and there will be no Yoga. Members will have to book their names in advance on payment of £1. Guests will be allowed for £10 on advance booking. All members who will be coming should bring with them the white ticket as well as their Kendra ID. Dress code is saris for the ladies and smart dress for the gents.
5. Kendra is planning a Yoga Retreat in early August on a beautiful island in Scotland- on Little Cumbrae Island – if there is enough interest shown by members (we need at least 22 names). We intend to leave from London at around 10.00 pm at night on Thursday and return on Sunday evening. The total cost including travel and food will be around £180 or less. If you are interested please inform Jayantbhai Doshi.
6. The Newsletter for the month of July has been uploaded on our website. A few hard copies are available for those members who have no access to emails. Please collect the same from me later on.
7. We have arranged a 12 day trip to Turkey from 11th September.( Please note we have changed the dates until after Priti Bhojan.) In view of the change in dates, there is slight increase in flight fare. However members will be given transport from Harrow Leissure Centre to London Gatwick. Full details will be sent by email. The charge for members is £960 and for non-members -£975. Names to be given to Chimanbhai Sheth – TEL : 01442 768959 – email : dischiman@gmail.com on payment of the deposit of £400. We have already received 41 names and only 45 will be taken.
8. National Council of Vanik Associations had celebrated 35 years of their existence in Leicester on 22nd June and a few copies of their Souvenir are available at the main desk. We take pride in announcing that two of our members – Dr Vinodbhai Kapashi and Dhirendra Shamalji Sanghrajka amongst others, were honoured by presentation of certificates for their selfless service to the society. Our heartiest congratulations to them. NCVK will post Vanik members directory to all members who are registered with them.
9. As all Jains are aware of the JAINpedia.org site, which is a leading encyclopedia on Jainism, illustrated with rare manuscripts from the The British Library, The Victoria & Albert Museum, The Bodlein Library, The Wellcome Trust and The Royal Asiatic Society, The entire site has a wealth of information on Jainism dating back thousands of years. The site is now being expanded with more content and articles and requires funding from well-wishers. A kickstarter portal has been established: https: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ioj/jainpedia) for funding purpose. This surely is a noble cause for Jains and Jains are requested to make any donations whatsoever.
10. Our member Premlataben Parekh has continued with her fasting and today is her 33rd ‘Upvaas’. On behalf of Kendra we pray that she completes her fast and maintains her ‘sata’
