NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA- ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS 8TH JUNE 2017

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives in the brutal terrorist attack at London Bridge and Borough Market on 3rd June.  We pray for early recovery of those injured still in hospitals, some of whom are critical. We will observe a minute’s silence to pray for the departed souls to rest in eternal peace. (A MINUTE’S SILENCE WAS OBSERVED BY ALL PRESENT)

1). Today Manishaben conducted partnership Yoga  with Yogic poses which tune up all body parts with the help of Prafullaben and Nootenben.  Everyone was impressed with these.  Also Jasuben conducted meditation.  Many thanks to all of them.

2). DONATIONS :  Last week the following donations were received :
* £21 from Premlataben Parekh who celebrated her 97th birthday recently.
*£30 from Amit Jogia on his visit to Kendra.

3). After lunch today we will have a talk and presentation on Live Kidney Donation by Minaben Modi.  We thank Manharbhai Mehta – President of Vanik Council, who has sponsored this programme. There will be a question and answer session also.
Minaben Modi talked about her personal experiences.  Also our member – Ushaben Mehta gave her personal experience.

4). Next Thurs – 15th - Nimaben Kakad will give a programme : “Mix and Match”. Also note that there will be no Walking Group's walk.

5).  On 22nd June Pragnaaben Mandalia has arranged a Talking Therapy workshop on sleep problems in the Seminar Room from 11.00 am to 12.30pm.  If you are interested, please give your names to Ellaben Shah.  We can take 25 members who are with Harrow or Brent GPs.  If there will be more than 25, we will arrange another session.

6). We have booked a Kiran Purohit play – “Lagan Ni Viyadhi .......Divorce in Upadhi” on Sun -25th June at 1.00 pm at the Patidar Federation Hall, Wembley.  Subsidised Tickets for members are £5 and for guests £8. Only a few tickets are now remaining and if you are interested, please contact Ashokbhai Mehta. :  ashok_mudrika@hotmail.com


7).  On Tues – 4th July we have arranged a day picnic to Verulamium Park in St. Albans.  The subsidised charge for members is £10 and Guests £15.  Children upto 12 years - £10.  If you wish to drive there, then you must Register and pay £5 for members and children under 12.  Guests £10.
We will provide Breakfast and then members can walk around or play games.  In the afternoon we will provide lunch.


8).  NVK has arranged a 5 days/4 nights trip to North Wales.  Cost of the trip will be £225pp for members and £240 for guests. The Trip includes 4 nights Accommodation with Breakfasts, lunches and Dinners on all days.  Coach will leave Kenton Library at 9.00 am on 17/7 and the return trip will be after breakfast on 21/7.  If you are interested, please give your name immediately to Ashokbhai Mehta.  We will confirm the trip only if we receive the minimum numbers required.


9). Newsletter for June was emailed to members and uploaded on our Website.  A few Hard copies are available later on for those who have no emails facility.

10) Remember to use your precious vote and cast the same in the General Elections for the candidate of your choice.


11).  The interfaith Network is organising “The Get Together” from 16/6 to 18/6 which is the anniversary weekend of the murder of Jo Cox – former MP of Bately and Spen.  The event is organised to show how different faiths are united together.  We at NVK will observe 15/6 as the as the Great Get Together Day in memory of Jo Cox.


12). Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across UK.  It takes place from 1st to 7th June every year.  On behalf of NVK, we take great pride in our team of volunteers who are ever ready to volunteer and give up their time whether at our functions or outside in making arrangements, and devoting their time for Kendra.  To all of them a “Big Thank You” from Kendra. We highly value your services and the time you give.


13). On the 2nd Anniversary of Prayer of Peace requested by The Pope Francis, faiths all over the world, wherever they may be at 1.00pm their time, will stop, bow their head and pray for peace for a minute, according to ones’ tradition.  In solidarity with the world, we will now stop, bow and pray for a minute for peace in the world.

14).  Vinod Parekh announced that last Thursday our function was held in the upstairs hall and someone whilst coming down the stairs toppled two huge vases and broke these.  He requested if anyone had any knowledge of this and also requested members to be very careful and always to take care of other’s property.
